Effective Advertising Planning and Implementation Advertising is a key resource to businesses because it allows businesses the opportunity to reach its customers, and it also creates other opportunities to gain new customers. This is how a company increases its market share. However large a company's customer base determines how large of a piece of the market share pie it owns. This is why effective advertising planning and implementation is so important. There are several key components to an effective advertising implementation plan, and each component serves a specific purpose in the smooth operation of advertising campaign strategies. Two of these key components are marketing research and advertising research.
Marketing Research Effective advertising planning includes an effective marketing research initiative. According to Arens, Weigold, & Arens (2008), marketing research helps a company's management team make sound marketing decisions, and also assists in the development of systematic procedures for gathering information. These procedures are used to record and analyze information as well. Additionally, marketing research helps companies with what Arens, Weigold, & Arens (2008) refer to as the three R's of marketing. The first "R" of marketing is recruiting new customers. The second "R" of marketing is retaining current customers, and the third "R" of marketing is regaining customers that were previously lost. Information gathered from a company's marketing research data helps its management team to identify key elements for its advertising research initiatives.
Advertising Research Advertising research produces information for a company's management team to make sound advertising decisions, and to develop effective advertising campaigns.

...Matt Beaty September 13, 2013 Marketing Prof. King Paper #2 Over the past decade advertising has changed in ways that weren’t even thought possible. In the beginning, advertisement got around just simply through people talking. Then when paper and printing came around companies would pay to have an advertisement on a piece of paper or even in the newspaper. Then advertising went by the way of radio and then to television. Advertising has been forever growing, and it is an essential part to a company’s success. With the growing rate of types of advertising, it makes the job of the marketers even harder. Marketers have to find new ways the catch the eye of its consumers, especially that of the Millennial Generation. In the years before the ‘smartphone’ most of the world’s advertising went through television. Television was a good way to advertise their product because a lot of people would be in front of a television at some point in their day. One of the most popular advertising days for marketers are on the day of the Super Bowl. During the time that of the game companies pay millions of dollars to have their advertisement broadcasted in front of all the viewers of this game. The millennial generation has been tough for marketers to get their advertising to. This generation is more technology savvy and majority of them have a smart phone that is with them everywhere. Book Fair

...have chosen to do my research paper on the organization of the book fair for a non-profit company in a major United States city. This book fair will take place in San Francisco, California. There are many non-profit organizations here in San Francisco that could use the help of a fundraiser. There are schools, health organizations, medical clinics, homeless shelters, and food banks to name a few. Successful planning and organizing a fundraiser will make this project successful. To begin the planning stage of this fundraiser, I will need to do much research. This is going to be a book fundraiser. Looking at cost effective ways to hold this fundraiser is crucial since the outcome is to raise money for a particular organization. I will first look at a venue. Is it less expensive to hold a fundraiser on the Internet or is it more cost efficient to hold it a location. Having a fundraiser on the Internet does not seem a personable to me. However, it might be more cost efficient. Holding a fundraiser at a physical location seems that it would be more successful. The advertising and promotion of a fundraiser are just as important. Getting the most exposure to the public will help with the success of my fundraiser. I will need to research to find out if advertising and promoting this book fundraiser is more or less expensive than with actual physical advertising. I am leaning more to the physical advertising because I think it will bring...

...Create an Effective Advertising Plan Product, Price, Place, & Promotion Your marketing plan has positioned your company in terms of product, price, and place. You have made decisions about what market segment you will compete in. You have considered products and services, distribution, pricing, guarantees, quality, policies, etc. You have set objectives and goals. Now it’s time to decide how you will promote your company to achieve those objectives and goals. Define Your Customers. The number one reason advertising fails is because it is poorly targeted. No advertising is going to be successful if its target audience is not well defined and understood. Talk to your customers and potential prospects. Listen to them. Understand them. We have provided you with some excellent strategies for defining your customers. Please read the Market Targeting Strategy and the Generating Better Qualified Prospects chapters. These two chapters will give you insight into defining your customers, and knowing what they need, want, and desire. There are a few things to note here about your customers. First, your target group does not include the whole world. If you try to advertise to the whole world, you will go out of business. Second, in many companies, 20% of the customers account for 80% of sales, and often 100% of the profits. These are the high usage customers that you want to target. Define who they are. Third, one out of ten people strongly influence the...

According to its corporate website, "SuperMedia serves as the advertising agency for small to medium sized businesses with a variety of advertising solutions". The solutions fall into three categories which include online advertising, direct mail and the yellow pages. With advertising solutions becoming more digitized and cost effective, SuperMedia (formally Idearc Media) found itself in a position where it had to quickly adapt to the new ways in which business were advertising. Unfortunately, this meant the company had to cut corners in the process without much due diligence and eventually lead to creating a sales environment that resulted in a reduction in sales and a high turnover of personnel in the sales department. As a sales representative within the company I have seen how sales managers within the department have taken a "win at all cost" attitude when dealing with members on their sales team. I have seen the practices of how deals were passed on to some members of the team who were already close to achieving sales quotas while others suffered - eventually losing their jobs - because they had not met their monthly quotas enough to stay with the company. Preliminary Problem Statement SuperMedia was late (and still struggles to make the adjustments) in offering effective Internet advertising solutions...
