Around the late 1940’s actually, and it was a wonderful thing. It gave the world easy access to entertainment at home. Over the years it has become a lot more popular and it’s hard to find a home without a television. We have flat screens, touch screens and even TV’s that can connect to the internet. Americans love it and some feel they can’t live without it. Is this a healthy relationship? According to Statistic Brain, 99% of American families have at least one TV in the home. 65% of American families have three or more TV’s in the home. (Statistic) For most homes that is a TV in every room. It’s nice to be able to watch movies with your family on a comfortable couch. We all have our favorite shows that we like to watch at a specific time on a specific date every week and that’s ok. However, is there such a thing as watching too much TV? The average American watches more than four hours of TV each day. In a 65 year life that’s nine years of just watching TV. Nine years is a long time to waste on TV.
