There are many famous paintings in the world especially by German artists. One German artist who has painted many paintings is Emil Nolde. Emil Nolde was born in the village of Nolde which is near the German border. He was born on August 7th in the year 1867 and died on April 13th in the year 1956. He grew up on a farm where he enjoyed painting and drawing. He did not pursue his career as an artist until he was thirty one years old. An interesting fact was when his paintings started to become more successful he decided to change his name from Emil Hansen to Emil Nolde. His new last name came from the place he was born “Nolde”.
