Hindsight Essay

...to be young and naïve. I took everything in life for granted, particularly the immeasurable blessing of having parents. During the entire time that I was with my parents, I used to be ignorant and resentful. My parents raised me, they nourished me, they educated me, and they tended to each and every one of my wishes. Yet I took their love and care for granted. I could never see the value of what they were doing for me. My parents never let any of my needs go unfulfilled. Still, I always demanded more and more of them. My father worked his shoes off to be able to provide for me while my mother sacrificed everything from her time to her energy for raising me. She taught me, cleaned after me, cared for me, and helped me strive for success in life. But alas, I was young, I was naïve. I never recognized what they would do for me. Whenever they could not fulfill my wishes on time, I would feel discontent with life. Whenever they could not tend to any one of my silly needs, I would be angry and upset with them. Whenever they forbid me from doing something, I would argue with them, not realizing that it was for my own good that they always forbade me. Today, I sit here in my house, my own house, thinking of how stupid and child-like I used to be. Through the efforts of my parents, I’ve become what you would say a ‘success’ in life. I have a stable job, my own family, my own car, my own house; but is this everything that matters? No. Now as I sit in my lounge, I realize that I would...

Starry Night

...starry night From the Birds that Sing, In the Tallest Trees. To the Human Life, of you and me. From the Desert Sands, to the place we stand. He is God of All, He is Everything. Waohhh I'm giving my life to the only One who makes the moon reflect the sun. Every starry night, that was His design. I'm giving my life to the only Son, who was and is and yet to come Let the praises ring, 'cause He is everything 'Cause He is everything From the autumn leaves, that will ride the breeze To the Faith it takes, to pray and sing From the Painted sky, to my plank filled eye He is God of all, He is everything Waohhh I'm giving my life to the only One who makes the moon reflect the sun. Every starry night, that was His design. I'm giving my life to the only Son,who was and is and yet to come Let the praises ring, 'cause He is everything. Ohhhhhhh (everything) Hallelujah (Hallelujah) Hallelujah I believe Ohhh Hallelujah (Hallelujah) Hallelujah I believe I'm giving my life to the only One who makes the moon reflect the sun On that starry night, He changed my life. I'm giving it all to the only Son who gave me hope when I had none. So let the praises ring, Ohhhh Let the Praises Ring I'm giving my life to the only One who makes the moon reflect the sun. Why I Am Thankful

...thankful means to me is to see everything as a gift from God. I see my very life as a gift from God, and I am so thankful just because he lets me wake up every day. He has always provided for me with everything that I need so I never need to worry because he takes care of me. I am so thankful that my parents can afford to pay for my school, for my teachers, and for my close friends. I thank God for helping me get through my struggles. I thank God for the loving family I have. I have so much to be thankful for. My life wouldn't be the same without the people that have shaped and molded my character. They have helped me succeed, and for that, I am thankful. I think it is important to be humble, and remember all of the people that helped me get to where I am, whether it's my parents, my siblings, my close friends or even God. Being thankful is being able to not focus on the hardships of life, and instead acknowledging everything in my life that has made it better. I am thankful to God and my family, and my friends, and even my teachers for helping me improve my life. Being thankful to me is appreciating everything God has given me. I think it means counting all of my blessings and being grateful for all the wonderful things in my life. Being thankful to me means stopping to realize I have a wonderful supportive family as well as really good friends who care and love me very much. I am glad to know I have so many wonderful and loving people in my life that support me always. I am...

My mother Melba Peterson and my two older brothers TraeVon McKinney and Michael Peterson, do know understand how Emmanuel made the huge significtly impacted on my life. My mother Melba can tell you a whole story about my life, but the most thing she likes to talk about is me growing up and becoming a respectful young lady by bringing my pride and joy Emmanuel in to world; he changed my life to give him a better future. My mother would tell all her friends about Emmanuel and how special he is to her. Her favorite story is the day Emmanuel was born. For some odd reason my mother and Emmanuel became real close after he was born. I asked my mother how Emmanuel made an impact on my life. My mother responded by saying, she don’t know how I graduated high school when I barely went before I had Emmanuel, but after I had him she made sure I went every day. My mother also talks about how I use to run the streets, get into fights with anybody, getting arrested more than 10 times and doing things that a girl my age at the time shouldn’t been doing. She would always want me to do well but I never did. She says when Emmanuel came into my life my behavior started to improve; I stop...

Life Changes in a Blink of an Eye

...Life Changes in a Blink of an Eye Life is not what it seems; we don’t recognize ourselves as we’re all lost. I think; therefore, I doubt whether I am or not. One’s life is not what it seems, nor is what we were taught since childhood. The idea of living life is reduced to a life tacked by common sense. My own significant weight is what led me down the path of realization. My life had a slight change July 9, 2010, I was charged with two felonies. January 1, 2010 was when everything began. I started dating a young man that wasn’t right for me and I knew it, but I looked past it and gave him a chance. I was in deep LIKE. His lifestyle wasn’t the legal lifestyle and his friends wasn’t right either, but I looked pasted all the wrongs and continued on with my relationship. I would do anything for this guy, I only asked one thing from him and that was to not put me in any trouble and he agreed; but his friends had a different view on others life that wasn’t theirs. The summer of 2010 was when everything started to change. We decide to move in together and continue on with our relationship. Life and Love can be a tricky thing. Rather I knew right from wrong I believe he was right for me. Again, the friends were a issue and I knew it but I trusted him to have them in order and make sure or house was our home. Life is not what you dreamed it to be. July 9, 2010 my partners’ friend asked for a ride and when I dropped him off I notices he left a black book bag in my vehicle, I didn’t...

I followed it also because through out my life it was easy to find situations where I could get upset. Since I was a little girl I heard my mom say "everything happens for Good" I heard her say it both for the good and the bad things that happened. hearing her telling me this when she saw me upset made me put it in my mind and apply it in my everyday life. Finding myself in small situations being mad like missing the bus to get to school or being rejected by a friend, I remember always getting mad at myself , people or even God. The time I applied for a job and after waiting two weeks for interview I was mad because I didn't the new job. This days thanks to God I have been changed because my mom' advice was so true and applicable. Now rather than just worrying myself why things always don't work out as I expected I learned not to give in or give up easily in every situations I found myself in but always I try to see beyond what is in front of me or try to focus on the positive sides of situations as they saying goes " you can either think the cup is half full or half empty". Piaget's Theory

...PIAGET’S THEORY IN MY LIFE Jean Piaget was a Swiss philosopher and psychologist who created the Four Stages of Cognitive Development, which are Sensorimotor, Preoperational, Concrete Operational and Formal Operational. He believed when humans are in their infancy, childhood, and adolescence stage, they try to understand the world through experiments. During cognitive development, children actively construct knowledge as they manipulate and explore their world. By the time children become adults, they are able to put in practice everything they learnt and apply the skills they need to live in the world. Everyone fits perfectly into the Piaget's Four Stages of Cognitive Development. The first stage is Sensorimotor. As the name implies, sensorimotor helps the infant to understand all its senses. This stage ranges from birth to 2 years old. I don't remember much of this stage because my brain wasn't fully developed, but probably I knew every time I cried my mom would come to feed me, give me attention or even change me. During this stage, my mom said that I liked to play with anything that would make noise, and everything colorful would catch my eyes easily. As any other kid, anything that ended up on my hands would be used to bang somewhere, until I got tired and threw it away. My parents would pick it up a couple of times, and then give me another toy, so I could be entertained for a few more minutes. I also discovered that not everything that I put into my mouth was comestible...
