Question #1

Bassi and Pasture proved that disease came from microorganisms. Koch’s
Postulates specifically isolate the bacteria that cause the disease.
Per Koch the pathogen must be present in every case of the disease, it must be isolated from the Patient and must grow a pure culture, Koch was the first to do this. The bacteria from the pure culture must then cause the same disease in a laboratory animal, it is proven that the disease is caused by the specific bacteria when it can be re isolated from the laboratory animal and grown in a pure culture. Therefore we use Kochs postulates rather than Pastures because he proved that the disease was caused by the specific microorganism and Bassi …show more content…
Glucose oxidation provides energy for Pseudomonas by utilizing the energy produced when glucose is broken down into CO2 and H2O. Lactobacillus ferments glucose and utilized the energy produced when pyruvate is broken down into ethanol and CO2. Escherichia uses both the process of glucose fermentation and oxidation. Alcaligene utilizes the energy from the breakdown of acetoin.

Question #6

Oh no! My orange drink is fermenting and the sugar in my drink is getting turned into acid. This happens when all the oxygen in has been used up and the bacteria in the environment turn to aerobic metabolism. First Glucose is converted into pyruvate via glycolysis.
Which is broken down into lactic acid and acetyl-CoA via pyruvate processing. The production of the lactic acid is called acid fermentation. The second product of pyruvate processing is acetyl-CoA is broken down into ethanol. This process is called Alcoholic fermentation. Question#9

A defined medium is a medium where every chemical in the medium is chemically defined the defined mediums from the table are NaCl,
NO3-,MgSO4. The other mediums are not because you do not know the ratio of chemical to glucose. Based on the table is can be
