This report it will be explaining the business strategies used by a business operating internationally. It will refer back to the previous criteria where I described the business strategies used by a business operating internationally; the business I have chose to use Avon. I will be explaining the business strategies used by Avon who are operating internationally. With all the information I provided in criteria pass five, I will further explain why these strategies are used by Avon.
The first strategy this report is going to explain is ‘Advertising in Local Businesses’. This strategy is important because it’s what Avon is all about, because their sales persons or Avon Representatives as they’re known basically run their own business they way hey go about selling products, they go door to door selling Avon’s products that people have liked the fancy of when going through the catalogue that would have been posted through the other week, everyone has their local ‘Avon Lady’. The Avon representatives also work on commission so they make their money through selling products, the more they sell the more they earn, this would be an incentive to try and sell more products around the local area.
The second strategy this report is going to explain is ‘Internet Marketing’. This is another main aspect Avon use and which is also cost effective sales strategy which is then adopted by the representatives. This is where Avon representatives can write articles on their products, advertising how good they are and how useful they are. For example how well a moisturiser works or how nice the shampoo from Avon smells, then they use others websites to advertise and it drives traffic onto their website, internationally this is a great way to try and generate more sales.
