DEATH PENALTY
Thesis
As you further read into this paper you will understand the reason and cause for the death penalty in the United States. You will be educated how many states in the United States use the death penalty as a form of punishment and also what form of it is used. There are many methods of death some states opposed while others see it as “an eye for an eye”. Capital Punishment is defined as the practice of executing an individual as punishment for a specific crime. This is known as a state’s form of committing murder.
Capital punishment comes from the Latin word meaning for the head. Some oppose it (those we term Conservative) and those who support it (these we term Liberal). Capital Punishment can range from simple punishments of cutting ones’ hand off for stealing to being hung, set in front of a firing squad, using lethal injection (a commonly used form), to being gassed, or the electric chair (a more common form). Some countries even use poisoning, starving, and burning (which some deem as unconstitutional). So because a state does it, is it legal? Or morally right? Yes because it is done in a lawful manner (so the conservatives would believe).
Definition
Liberalism is defined as a set of beliefs that includes the advocacy of positive government action to improve the welfare of individuals, support for civil rights, and tolerance for political and social change (Bardes, 2013-2014).
Liberals believe the death penalty should be abolished (so do I) (www.studentsnewsdaily.com,

...Assignment 2:   External and Internal Environments Business 499 Zavier Pyles Professor May January 30th, 2013 Vroom Vroom!   This is the welcomed sound that automobile owners and manufacturers like to hear.   It is the sound of completion, success, and satisfaction.   But what happens when this sound is drowned out by weakened profits, customer dissatisfaction, and industry weakness?   In comes the government bailout of the automobile industry.   In recent years, 2008-2010, Ford, GM, and Chrysler had to be saved from self-destruction and bankruptcy through government incentives, loans, and emergency funding.   In December of 2008 these 3 automakers asked the government for monetary assistance that totaled approximately 34 billion dollars (About, 2013).   Ford, GM, and Chrysler asked for these funds to avoid impending job layoffs in the millions and also to avoid further financial trouble for the economy during the recession (About, 2013).   All three of the car companies that had to be bailed out were American based and had for years been facing stiff competition from foreign car makers especially Honda, Hyundai, and Toyota.   During this time there was quite a bit of finger pointing and blame being placed surrounding the reason for the failure of the American car industry.   Was the failure based on external factors such technology, political/legal parties and organizations, or economic issues (Hitt, Ireland, Hoskisson, 2013)?   Or was the failure of this industry based...

...External and Internal Environment Organizations normally operate in a network and are not entirely independent because of the several environments that influence their activities and actions. Some examples of internal and external factors are micro and macro environment that could influence Starbucks are; suppliers, competitors, customers, finances, economic, political, social, environmental, as well as legislation (Starbucks, 2010). Starbucks’ home market is based in the United States which is critical in understanding the internal and external surroundings that impact the organization and its growth. Statistics indicates that coffee sales has grown by 20% percent each year and 18% of it is contributed to the 18 billion dollar coffee market in the United States. At the end of 2011, coffee shops were expected to exceed well over $50,000 (e-importz.com, 2012). With that said, the growth of coffee consumption and potential maturity of the American coffee market may have influenced overcapacity and may have intensified the organizations growth plan. Tariffs and International Trade regulations has contributed to some of the environmental factors for Starbucks; due to high tariffs the company would be compromised, the ability to source quality coffee beans would affect Starbucks reputation, global sales, and competitiveness. Economical Influences pertains to the exchange rate, Starbucks import coffee, sugar, and milk; with a weaker currency the cost will eventually increase...

In addition I will use the five (5) forces of competition and evaluate which two of the processes are the most significant to the corporation by evaluating how Adidas has addressed them in the recent past. I will further use the two forces to predict what the Adidas Group might do to improve their corporation by addressing these forces in future endeavors. By choosing this corporation I will identify the external threats that affect them in the industry as well as the opportunities available. By doing this I will attempt to give my opinion on the corporation’s greatest threat and opportunity to identify some of their strengths and weaknesses for future growth potential. ...Full control ensures shoe retailer never misses a step By RACHAEL BOON THE success of shoe label and fashion retailer Charles & Keith International on the global front can be attributed to its ability to have a firm grip of its operations across its vast network of stores and factories. This unwavering commitment has put the company in good stead to weather the major crises it had faced, dating back to the days when the retailer was operating out of a small store in Ang Mo Kio in 1990. Back then, co-founder and chief executive Charles Wong, 39, and his younger brother, Keith, 37, were just teenagers helping out at their mother’s shop. She wanted the older Mr Wong to close the unprofitable shoe section, but the future shoe maven was determined to turn it around. He mapped out a plan to take control of the entire shoe business operations – from stocks to design and even shoe sizing. As a result, the shoes sold well and Mr Wong managed to stave off the store’s closure. This experience honed his business acumen, which would serve him well when he decided to set up his own shoe company with his younger brother, who is the firm’s chief operating officer. From the outset, the siblings were determined to make a name for themselves by starting their own brand. In 1996, they set up shop in Amara Shopping Centre to market and sell Charles & Keith shoes at a time when it was unheard of for local shoe retailers to brand themselves. The move was prompted...

The cruise industry is a small part of the travel/leisure industry. The U.S. cruise industry has experienced substantial growth in recent years. Nationwide, direct spending by cruise lines and passengers increased from $9.4 billion to $14.7 billion, (56%) between 2000 & 2004. Including multiplier effects, the U.S. cruise industry supported 315,830 jobs and provided $12.4 billion in wages and salaries in 2004. In recent years, the cruise industry has seen remarkable growth in the ports of Bar Harbor and Portland, Maine. Bar Harbor hosted 76 cruise ship visits in 2005, a 36 percent increase above the 56 ships that came to town in 2001. According to Portland’s Seaport Statistics, Maine’s largest city hosted over 40,000 cruise ship passengers in 2001 and 2002, up from about 14,000 passengers in 1999. Portland welcomed 45,225 cruise ship passengers in 2005. Cruise ship passengers provide a stimulus to the local retail economy of host ports.
