To record the significant events of the first, second and third return process of the Jews to the homeland in fulfillment of Jeremiah’s prophecy. This first purpose can be seen as the core idea that made these two book existed in the Bible. The books of Ezra and Nehemiah were written by taking the form of a historical narrative which the function of these two books were to record the lives of the Jews that came back from the exile. The plot of the story started right after the long history narrative in 1-2 Kings which focused on the separation of Israel into two kingdoms (Israel and Judah) and continued by multiples kings that ruled over these two kingdoms and they failed to do their duty of leading the people to live according to God’s way
