At the age of 17 I had done some things with my so called friends that landed me right into military school. I was the only one out of all of them to get into trouble. They all had told me they would keep in touch during the 6 months I was away at school. Early one cold morning we made the 3 hour journey to what I called hell but to others known as tarheel challenge military academy. When we got there and got settled in they went through the guidelines of what we can and can not do. One that caught my attention a lot was that we could not make any phone calls home for the first month we were there we could only wright letters. I was glad before left home I had got all of my friends addresses before I left. So the first couple of weeks went by and I had written all my friends letters but had yet to hear from any of them but two. I had just thought they had not got them or I wrote the wrong address. So I had wrote my mom and told her to get all the addresses again and send them to me again.
While I was waiting for her letter back I was actually having a alright time at the school which was weird cause at first I had despised it. So about a week later I got a letter from my mom with a list of all my friends addresses. I sat in my bed that night and I wrote all my friends that were on that paper. I put them in the mail that night to so it would be about a week to get to them.
So a week had gone by and no one had replied and this week we had earned phone calls. I was planning to call my mom first then all the friends I wrote to see why they haven’t replied. Three more days went by and I hadn’t heard from anyone but it was phone call time. I talked to my mom for a little then I called my friends one by one. And when I had asked them have they got my letters they said yes and they said they just haven’t replied yet.
From that point on they weren’t my close friends anymore cause I had realized if they were true friends they would had replied and only two of them were my true friends. When I eventually graduated from there and went home I rarely saw or spoke to them and If I saw them I just said hey and kept on walking I was still kind of pissed I took the time to write them and they couldn’t even write back.
