Leadership and management are two terms that are commonly used to mean the same thing, however they have slight but different meanings. According to Kathy Schwalbe leaders are “focused on long-term goals and the big-picture objectives while inspiring others to reach those goals”, and managers “deal with the day-to-day details of meeting specific goals”. (Schwalbe, 2014) Simply put this means that a leader inspires people to meet goals and a manager deals with meeting goals. With that in mind a project manager has to be both, they work on setting the goals of a project and run the day-to-day details to meet a goal. To do this a project manager has to inspire the team members to meet the set goals. The concept of a systems approach is “a holistic and analytical approach to solving complex problems.” (Schwalbe, 2014) This uses a systems philosophy to view things as a system that is connected. It uses system analysis to analyze a problem as related to the system as a whole. This allows a problem to be addressed while keeping the entire system in mind for the best outcome for the entire organization. Software Development Life Cycle is a series of steps, or phases, that provide a model for the development and lifecycle management of an application or piece of software. (VERACODE, 2014) It includes two broad models the predictive life cycle and the adaptive software development (ADS) life cycle model. The predictive life cycle model means that the schedule and cost can be accurately predicted and the scope can be accurately articulated. In the ADS life cycle model the development takes and adaptive approach because the requirements cannot be clearly expressed early on. Examples of the predictive life cycle model according to the textbook “Information Technology Project Management 7th Edition” include: * The waterfall life cycle – Has well defined, linear

Bio230 Final Exam Question Essay

...Iron is an essential trace element for many cellular functions. Iron uptake is accomplished with the aid of 2 proteins: • Transferrin, a soluble protein which binds to Fe • A Transferrin receptor, a transmembrane protein which binds the Transferrin/Fe complex. Using the table below, list each step in the Fe uptake process. Number each step and include a description of each step. Be sure to include the events of each step and any environmental conditions that are required or determine the action of the molecules involved. (15 pts.) Note: You must use the table below for your answers. While you do not need to use every row, YOU CAN NOT CREATE MORE ROWS. Transferrin without Fe bound does not interact with its receptor and circulates in the bloodstream until it catches an Fe ion. Once iron is bound, the iron–transferrin complex can bind to the transferrin receptor on the surface of a cell and be endocytosed. under the acidic conditions of the endosome, the transferrin releases its iron, but the transferrin remains bound to the transferrin receptor, which is recycled back to the cell surface, where it encounters the neutral pH environment of the blood. The neutral pH causes the receptor to release the transferrin into the circulation, where it can pick up another Fe ion to repeat the cycle. The iron released in the endosome, like the LDL in Figure 15–33, moves on to lysosomes, from where it is transported into the cytosol. The system allows cells to take...
