Snow College’s basketball court is home to the men and women’s basketball team as well as the girl’s volleyball team. This court was remodelled in 2012 to match Snow College’s new logo and colors. “I love the new court, it feels so amazing to play on compared to the old court,” said Scott Hacking, someone who plays on these courts frequently.

The Blue Gym allows many sports to be played: Volleyball, Indoor Tennis, Indoor Track, Indoor Soccer, Rock-climbing, and many other activities, this gym definitely can do it all. The Blue Gym can be split into three sections allowing multiple activities to be played at once. “I love being able to run multiple drills at once. I can have people hitting balls, taking grounders, doing exercises all at once because this gym is so large and versatile,” said Coach Squire, a softball coach who practices in this gym.

In the Activity Center there are three different courts that allows many fun games to be played. These courts have recently been remodelled to be the best the can for the players. “I love the new courts, the old ones were not very fun to play on, now with the new floors they are much more enjoyable,” said Kathy C., a common racquetball player at the A.C.

The fitness center is a great place to exercise at Snow College. There are many different machines that allow you to work every muscle in your body. There are cardio machines, strength training machines, and agility training. “With so many machines only a few feet from each other I can do my entire work out in one place, I love it,” said Kacey Reynolds, a Snow College student.

The indoor pool is Ephraim’s only swimming pool managed by Matt Johnson. Many activities are hosted at this pool: lap swimming, water aerobics, water polo, swim classes, lifeguard classes, and many others. There are two diving boards, a high and a low, both plunge you into 12 feet deep

...understanding of how the human body works, and how cardiovascular exercise can decrease deadly diseases. The fitness industry as a whole has seen a constant incline in popularity since the early eighties, and seems to continually reinvent itself to find new and exciting ways for those that participate, to live longer, healthier and happier lives. One of the leading manufacturers of fitness equipment is Precor, Inc. which is headquartered in Woodinville, Washington. Since 1980, the name Precor, has become synonymous with quality, effective fitness equipment that is ergonomically correct and has unmatched durability. Precor, and its major competitor, Life Fitness, dominate the health club market, as industry experts estimate that approximately ninety percent of all the fitness equipment used in health clubs worldwide is either manufactured by Precor or Life Fitness. As a part owner of a home fitness retail chain in Southern California, and having been involved in the fitness industry for twelve years, I have developed a diverse knowledge base of the fitness sales industry as a whole, and currently am one of twenty four member on Precor’s research and development team that is comprised of specialty fitness store owners from through the United states. My experiences have taught me valuable knowledge of the entire industry, and as a current Precor, and former Life Fitness retailer, I am extremely knowledgeable about both companies...

Conceptualizing a Business

...Business-Lifestyle Fitness University of Phoenix-BUS/475 May 30, 2011 Susan Horvat Conceptualizing a Business-Lifestyle Fitness Throughout the history of human life, life expectancy averages have dramatically increased as we become more educated and aware of how to live longer. In the early 20th century, life expectancy has increased from 47.3 years of age to nearly 77 years of age in 2009 (Polan & Taylor, 2007). As we look at today’s awareness on health, most people are aware of early childhood vaccinations, government spending and debate on health care reform, and the growing debate on childhood obesity. The more we become concerned with the quality of life and prevention of many health diseases, life expectancy will continue to gradually increase. One popular approach to increasing awareness about healthy lifestyles includes the focus on maintaining a healthy eating lifestyle and living actively to ensure the human body is strong in every sense. More companies and businesses have started offering healthy alternatives to their product lines to remain competitive with the growing health awareness trends of most consumers. However, one aspect of healthy living which is just as important as healthy eating or awareness is the personal one-on-one guidance when concerning making the right food choices and fitness activities that individuals need. This industry has not been widely accepted or positively viewed as affordable and necessary. Lifestyle Fitness-Who We Are...

Final Fitness World

...Module 5- Final Essay Assignment Understanding Fitness and Wellness Professor Katherine Cabai 26 May 2013 Every day the fitness world is becoming larger and larger. Everyone is trying to work towards having that “perfect body”. With that in mind, there are some important aspects an individual must understand about fitness and wellness in order to achieve their goals. Usually the best place to start is with themselves, by having figuring out their current fitness status. They need to also evaluate the exercises and activities they have been doing and improve their programs that will help make improvements towards their goal. Fitness and wellness isn’t all about working out, the individual needs to work on a diet plan and ways to control metabolic functions. Exercise and eating healthy are inseparable and come hand & hand with one another. Many people in the United States have struggled to eat healthy and also stay with a work out routine, which has resulted in an increase in obesity in America. Good health is just as important as fitness is, so it is important to create a good balance in order to achieve a high quality of life. To get a full understanding on where you stand on your health and fitness levels, you should regularly assess yourself. There are some specific attributes that an individual should check often to properly judge where they stand on their health and fitness levels. Doing an assessment on your fitness level is a great way to find out how healthy...

Business Plan

...the success of the defined business. The defined business, in the instance for Life Time Fitness, the importance of a strategic plan is undisputable. In Crafting & Executing Strategy: The Quest for Competitive Advantage: Concepts and Cases Arthur A. Thompson, Jr., A.J. Strickland III, and John E. Gamble (2009) state that “a company’s strategy is management’s action plan for running the business and conducting operations” (Thomson, 2009). Additionally to further clarify that a company’s strategy is all about how management intends to grow the business, how it will build a loyal custom and competitive competitors, how each functional piece of the business will be operated, and how performance will be boosted. Any organization without these defined factors will not succeed because all aspects of the business would be out of sync and could potentially take actions that would be counterintuitive to the success of the company as a whole. As the Healthy Way of Life Company, Life Time (NYSE: LTM) delivers the certified professionals, comprehensive businesses and incredible destinations that help people positively change their lives every day. The Company's healthy way of life approach enables its customers to achieve their health and fitness goals by engaging in their areas of interest — or discovering new passions — both inside and outside of Life Time's distinctive and large sports, professional fitness, family recreation and spa destinations. Finding the right model is the biggest thing as a business you can do to optimize your success rate. Fitness will always way heavily on people because in the long run of life people want to live longer. Taking into account the busy lives of the normal person in the 21st century the time where you can take two hours at the gym is just no-existent. People want a fast and effective way to reach their fitness goals in a time frame that shows quick results. The more people have to do for themselves the less likely they will stick with it. Not everyone can afford personal training, but want that kind of attention to push them through the days they do not want to work out. Fitness

...Chapter 2 Total health and fitness lifestyle benefits What Is Total Health and Fitness? The term total health (wellness) and fitness may be defined in a variety of ways. The most commonly used definition incorporates 5 areas- the mental, emotional, spiritual, social and physical. Although each area is important to your total health and well being, in this text we will only emphasize the physical characteristics of total health. However, since no single area can stand fully separated from the rest, we will discover how small parts of each area are inevitably intertwined with each other. When defining physical fitness, two terms are commonly used: health related fitness, and athletic performance related fitness (also referred to as motor, or skill fitness). The components of these two types are as follows: Health related fitness • Cardiovascular endurance • Muscular strength • Muscular endurance • Muscle and joint flexibility • Body composition (lean mass vs. fat mass) Athletic Performance Related Fitness (motor or skill fitness) • Cardiovascular endurance • Muscular strength • Muscular endurance • Muscle and joint flexibility • Body composition • Coordination • Speed • Agility • Power • Balance • Reaction time • Neurological efficiency Although the five components of health fitness are included in athletic fitness, the additional athletic...
