Full Metal Jacket opens with many actors or soldiers in the film getting their heads shaved. They are getting their heads shaved as this is what must happen for them to join the army and become a marine in training. We get to see a medium close up of the individuals, and this is a great camera angle to use as we can really clearly see the facial expressions of the men. We see that a lot of them do not have the greatest of expressions on their faces, meaning that they are not 100% happy with their hair being shaved off which may mean that they are not happy with going into the marines. The music that we hear is that of a song about Vietnam, which is of course the place in which these soldiers will be sent once they have done their training and this is extremely relevant to the film and to the scene as it allows us to understand why they are doing this and the impact that they will have later on into the film. I believe the main message is that these men or boys are still extremely young and fragile and may not be ready for war, yet they are being thrown into it head on literally. Finally I would like to add that we see a final shot of all of the hair combined on the floor of all different colours which shows that these boys are now brothers and are banded together and must stick

...Real-Time Hand Tracking for HumanComputer Interaction Ayush Tripathi, Kanishk Puri, Nilesh Srivastava, Prateek Dham (Students) Mrs S.S Dhotre(Professor) Computer Science Department Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University College of Engineering Pune, Maharashtra(India) Abstract- The proposed work is part of a project that aims for the control of a mouse based on hand gesture recognition. This goal implies the restriction of real-time response and unconstrained environments. This is basically a vision based skincolour segmentation method for moving hand in real time application [3]. For the hand segmentation step we use the colour cue due to the characteristic colour values of human [1]. The hands are recognized by the computer using the skin colour as one of the basic features for the hand recognition. The important feature is the accurate segmentation of hands [3]. I. In order to eliminate this new problem of increased costs, it will be necessary for our company to amend our existing store hours. To begin with, stores will now be closed on Sundays. In addition, Monday through Saturday, each work day will be shortened by two hours, and stores will be opening one hour later and closing one hour earlier. Instead of the usual work week consisting of 8-hour days five days a week, managers will now be required to work 10-hour days four days of the week. This change of schedule will not only benefit our organization but it will also benefit you personally because it will allow you to save additional money on gas, will give your more free time to enjoy with your family, and it will allow you to feel less stress. In addition to these changes, part-time employees will need to consolidate all of their hours into 1, 2, or 3 day workweeks, depending on the number of hours that they are normally scheduled to work. Also, our company has no plans to open any new stores at this time, but we do not plan...

But a percutaneous approach is a smaller incision or puncture, usually just large enough to insert an instrument. An obvious example is a needle biopsy of the liver. A not so obvious example is a carpal tunnel release as in Exercise 8.3. ...will close an hour earlier. The reasoning behind all of this is due to the downturn of the economy in addition to keeping business cost down. As a member of the team I know we must place the well-being of our workers first. Our workers are the backbone of the store, if they leave, then where would we be as a retail store. Our workers are who keep the business running. During these hard economic times, adjusting the schedules and changing hours of operations is in the best interest of the store. The fewer days the store is open the less electricity and power we will use. If we calculate the numbers just from Sundays, we can save our store money by 20 percent. I do not know about you but that makes me smile. The company will not be opening any new stores in the near future, but at the moment we do not plan on closing any stores...

...building is up for sale and the future of the building and store is unknown and dependant on the buyer of the building or the New Sudbury location where competitor West 49 would be opening a store right across the street. Internal Perspectives Keeping the South End location, leads to an unknown future for the company. Will the new building owner want to renew the stores lease? Keeping the New Sudbury location open where competitor West 49 is moving in will affect store sales. Is it worth the risk to keep that location open? This store has been open at this location for 10 years and is well known by customers. St Marseille worries about the success of the New Sudbury location once West 49 opens and estimates that in fiscal year 2004 annual store sales at this location would total $350,000 and all other expenses would remain comparatively stable. External Perspectives The skateboarding and snowboarding business in Ontario has really grown. Skateboarding became a popular sport and by 2004 there were nine city skateboard parks and plans to construct three more in Sudbury. The city of London, Ontario has only four skateboard parks to serve a population of close to 350,000. By the growth of skateboard parks there is an opportunity for competition to move in as it is doing with the opening of West 49 at the New Sudbury shopping Center. There is other competition in Sudbury, Pinnacle Sports, however that store is known for its biking and...
