Even though they are only bad if you eat fast food excessively, fast food leads to heart disease because contain higher levels of saturated fats and it bad cousin called trans fats (LDL) and fats can lead to clogged arteries and increased levels of cholesterol in the blood stream. It is known that a higher LDL level in your blood will lower the good cholesterol (HDL) level in the blood stream. When the level of cholesterol in your blood rises so does your risk of heart disease. We tend to over indulge when it comes to fast food,” the American Heart Association recommends that your cholesterol intake should be less than 300 milligrams a day. Your total fat intake should be 30% or less of your total calories, saturated fat should be 10% or less of the total daily calories and trans fats should be less than 1% of the total calories you consume.”
While only bad if you if you eat fast food in excess, fast food leads to heart disease. There is an old saying to much of a good thing is bad for you. Well that can go double for eating fast food in excess. The question on many of our minds is does fast food lead to obesity, the answer is yes. And obesity can lead to heart disease. Fast food is the major factor but it is not the only factor. The frequency of how many times a person goes to and consumes also plays a role in the process of the individuals weight gain. Another factor is the ingredients in the food; most fast foods are high on saturated fats. Basically the food contains more energy than the average non-active person can burn off normally. Also these foods are very low in vitamins and minerals that are suggested for good health.
