Food Philosophy There are five primary factors in my food philosophy. They are taste, family tradition, convenience, nutrition, and quantity. These factors can be described as a set of personal values that serve to help me make decisions regarding food. First, one of the most important reasons that people choose a specific kind of food is the taste. We eat food not only because we can get energy from food, but also because we like the taste of food. If the food is not delicious, it will not attract people. Second, the family tradition of food is important, too. We grew up in different families that have different family tradition of food. A person’s food philosophy is related to the food he or she has been eating since childhood. For example, if both parents are vegetarians, it is very possible that the kid is vegetarian, too. Third, convenience is about how easy people can get food. If food A is much easier to make than food B, people will be willing to choose food A because it saves time and effort. Fourth, nutrition is very important to food philosophy, too. Nutrition support our daily activities and keep us healthy. And different food has different kind of nutrition, thus, we should not be picky on food. Fifth, although nutrition is important, we need to be careful of the quantity of nutrition intake. Too much nutrition can lead to obesity. To reduce the possibility of chronic diseases, we need to intake adequate nutrition each day to prevent obesity. This is my food philosophy. And I think as I learn more about personal health, I will have more and good ideas about food
