Today, let’s talk about alternative medicine and method. Chinese Culture is full of traditional ways to feel amazement. A smoothing Chinese foot massage is one of the alternative methods which can be treated as a physical treatment to make people feel relaxation and decrease their body pain. Traditional Chinese foot massage consists of a foot bath followed by an intense massage on different pressure points in the feet, ankles and legs. Chinese foot massage has been practiced for centuries and it is popular in China. Both ancient Chinese books and modern medical texts mention the effect of foot massage which has been extensively used in treatment for medical symptoms, for example, arthritis, back, neck, and shoulder pain. It is also recommended by physiotherapists in China.
Even the feeling of a traditional Chinese foot massage may differ, it basically begins with soaking the feet in hot water adding tea and herbs. During the feet soaking, the therapist massages a person’s shoulders, back and neck for 10 to 15 minutes. After that, the feet are removed from the water and the person is transferred to a comfortable chair where the therapist is ready to work. The therapist uses cream or lotion on the foot and then rubs, pushes and massages pressure points on the bottom, top, and sides of the foot. The foot massage is often painful, particularly for first timers because it is believed that each part of the foot is connected to a part of the body. If pain is felt in a particular part of the foot, it is believed the corresponding part of the body has a problem. So far, foot massage is welcomed by both young and senior people in China. For young people, foot massage is a good alternative method to get rid of the whole day’s tension and relieve the body’s pain. On the other hand, senior people are more sensitive when it comes to taking medicines made of chemicals. Foot massage is a beneficial way for them to get physical treatment instead of taking medication. After all, no one likes to consistently rely on medicines made of chemicals to relieve body pain.
For example, I sometimes have a neck and shoulder pain, especially after long hours using the computer. I tried foot message occasionally when I was in China. I felt extreme pain the first time. However, after the foot massage, I could tell my body felt totally relaxed. Foot message boosted my blood circulation and alleviated my tension. I told my doctor about my foot massage experiences and he said foot message can be an alternative treatment to alleviate my neck and shoulder pain. In our society, people are influenced by many kinds of pain. In order to maintain a heathy body, foot massage is one method of easing pain and enjoying the body relaxation. Even though alternative medicines and methods cannot replace medication made of chemicals, it definitely can be one affiliated treatment to help more people. Since foot massage is being extensively applied and has been widely demonstrated it‘s effective in China, it is worthy to introduce it globally. In brief, foot massage is an alternative method with beneficial effects.

...Acupuncture Acupuncture is a treatment derived from ancient Chinese medicine in which fine needles are inserted at certain points in the body for therapeutic or preventative purposes. It is often seen as a form of complementary or alternative medicine, although it is used in many general practises as well as the majority of pain clinics and hospices in the UK. Western medicine is the use of acupuncture after a proper diagnosis. It is based on scientific evidence that show the treatment can stimulate nerves under the skin and in muscle tissue. This results in the body producing pain and relieving substances such as endorphins. Acupuncture practitioners sometimes called acupuncturists use acupuncture to treat a wide range of health conditions such as headaches, lower back pain but sometimes used in an attempt to help people with conditions such as anxiety to asthma.
