...Harvey In Harvey , two scenes where the actors spoke to each other effectively and listened to each other is when Veta went to see the Dr. Lyman Sanderson. That part was realistic because people actually do need help and its normal for a doctor sometimes to be wrong about an person side of the story. When Veta went to Lyman and tried explaining what was wrong with Elwood, and explaining how she felt about the situation made the scene realistic because how she was explaining with such detail and how Lyman was listening to a certain degree. Also, in the beginning when Veta is talking with her daughter, Myrtle, about how Elwood behaves and how they are embarrassed of him. Almost every family has someone they would be embarrassed to be around and maybe be just a little bit embarrassed of. That moment down-to-earth it seemed as if it was happening right in my own house. One technical element that helped make the play Harvey more interesting was when Veta came back from the institution and her hair and clothes was messed up. In the previous scene , it was said they had to strip her down and make her take certain baths. Duane said she even struggled and fought back because she did not want to be there. The play hints us that before it started, Elwood P. Dowd, who was once very popular for his good nature and manners along with his calm personality, befriends a Pooka named Harvey, a 6 feet tall rabbit. Elwood soon get well along with him, but everyone else thinks he is crazy because no one except Elwood can see this Celtic mythological creature. This gives Veta Louise, Elwood’s sister, a lot of stress. There are no society issues or deep social criticism in the play. Its mood is very light and comedic, with small jokes in it. Along with the mythical pooka, the creature which fuels the play, an event motivated Mary Chase to write Harvey. The second inspiration came when one day she took notice of her widowed neighbor who had lost her only son in World War II just two months earlier. In reflection, Chase asked herself: "Would I ever possibly write anything that might make this woman laugh again?" Rorschach is one of the first masked heroes we get to meet. We meet Rorschach after the death of another masked hero Edward Blake aka The Comedian. We go throughout most of the graphic novel without knowing the identity of Rorschach or his "real name". We quickly learn that Rorschach is a very black or white type of person, there is no in between with this guy. Rorschach is unapologetic too; he doesn't go by what society sees as bad or good, but off of his own judgment of right or wrong.
