Forever Gold

As I sit here, and reflect on the poem “Nothing Gold Can Stay" by Robert Frost, one story comes to my mind. On one particular afternoon, my family had decided to go to Prairie Winds Park, for a little adventure. When we arrived, my older brother had asked me if I wanted to ride a bicycle down the hill that the park had. Now, keep in mind that this hill is very large, almost perpendicular to the ground and covered in rocks and bumps. I, being the naïve girl that I was, didn’t even hesitate to say yes, or to think of all the injuries the trip down the hill on the bicycle could give me. And so, my older brother and I both settled on the bicycle ready to go downhill. The bicycle was clearly meant for one person so I sat on the metal frame in between the seat and the handlebars.
We landed on the ground with the front wheels hitting the ground first and the back wheels still in the air. All the while, I was screaming my head off. The slight brush with death sent a chill down my spine. When I finally decided to open my eyes, I realized that both my older brother and I were safe. I was oh, so thankful. But even with the scare that I had had a little part of me wanted to do it all over again. So, we did. We continued, and each time, it was much more exhilarating. After about the third time, a person patrolling the park stopped our fun, and informed us about the many rules that we apparently were breaking. And that was that.
It daunts me to know how quickly time really does go by. This (sort of recent) experience was one of the very last I had with my brother. My family and I do not go on adventures any more. And my older brother and I certainly can’t bear to be within arms length of one another nowadays. I don’t know what went wrong in all these years, but we have grown apart. We have purposely

...1901 Harder Road Hayward, CA 94542 December 9, 2013 Cely Pichay 2005 W. Olive Avenue Porterville, CA 93257 Dear Ms. Pichay: I am writing to inform you about how it is hard for filipinos in the city of Porterville to be accepted into society. It is hard for any race to be socially accepted in this country. There are so much criteria that you have to pass to even be considered into society. You have to look a certain way, act a certain way, talk a certain way, etc. To be honest, I don't even know if I am socially accepted because I don't pass a certain criteria. If it's hard for me, then I can't imagine what it must feel like for another person in my race. If you are filipino, it is especially hard to get accepted into society because we're different from other people. We have different values and outlooks on life. I want to know what you are going to do to fix this issue in the city of Porterville. There are a lot of filipinos, teenagers especially, that will do anything to get accepted into society. We want to be accepted by everyone because we want them to like us. We care about what other people think about us because that's just how we are. I know I am like that because if someone doesn't like me, then I will do anything to get them to like me. Filipinos have a difficult time getting accepted because we look or act differently compared to other races. When someone looks at me, I feel their eyes judging me and I don't want to feel like that anymore because I get really...

...6/15/2015 A good paragraph has both unity & coherence UNITY & COHERENCE What is Coherence? • Coherence means establishing a relationship between the ideas presented in a paragraph. • It brings about a rationale in the arrangement of the ideas which are introduced either in the chronological order or in the order of importance. • Besides, transitions that compare, contrast, illustrate, add or show cause and effect build logical bridges. • The ideas, thus expressed in the paragraph, flow smoothly from one to the other in a logical sequence. • This helps the reader to understand the paragraph. Element #1: Unity What is Unity? • Unity in a paragraph means that the entire paragraph should focus on one single idea. • The supporting details should explain the main idea. • The concluding sentence should end the paragraph with the same idea. • Thus, a unified paragraph presents a thought, supports it with adequate details and completes it with a conclusion*. First, what do we mean by “good” A. Technically, only God is good - Luke 18:19 B. In God there is not even a shadow of darkness - I John 1:5 C. In contrast, we are unable to live without sinning at times - I John 1:8, Romans 3:23 D. When we ask “Why me?” we are implying that we have no responsibility for the problems we sometimes face. 1. This might be true at times, but I’ve seen people say, “Why am I being evicted from my apartment?” Perhaps it is because you are behind on paying your rent. 2. People tend to ignore or make light of their own responsibilities. E. Yet there are times that bad things happen, which are totally out of our control. 1. Still, we shouldn’t say that these things should not happen because we are too good to experience them. F. One of the things that the Bible teaches us is that sin has consequences – whether we are referring to our own sin or the sins of another. 1. ...Sports Fans Sports fans are a definitely a different breed of people. When their team or teams are playing their mentality is they better win this game and if they lose its then end of the world and puts a lot of the people in bad moods. This happens on the daily basis. Sports fans thrive for the excitement of the games. The excitement of the games and the atmosphere of the stadium bring them in to a whole different world. The fans that take it the most seriously are definitely soccer, baseball, hockey and football fans the most. The die-hard fans care about every game that is played by their team. Most of the time they will take the hard fought loss as if they are part of the team. People are crazy about sports, they’re die-hard fanatics, which sometimes care more about sports then their actual life. The biggest sports fans would have to be football; they go all out for their team. People plan their day around the game by getting to the field to barbeque and tailgate before the game. Most of the time it will be two to three hours before the game. Even some times people will just get to the stadium to tailgate and be in the atmosphere of everyone else and not go into the game because they don’t have tickets. Football fans are crazy they will throw parties in the parking lot before and after the games. They also have fans that paint their bodies and stand out in the freezing cold when normal people would be bulled up in cloths. Football Fans are crazy but that is just the...

...Forever 21 a Global Company The global retailer that I have chosen is Forever 21 because they are a well-known retailer. Forever 21 is a well-known chain store and mostly targets young teenage to college age women. The store was founded in Los Angeles, California in 1984 by Do Won Chang and his wife Jin Sook Chang. The first fast fashion store opened in April 21 in 1984 and has grown nationally and globally since then. The market for Forever 21 has grown drastically within the past couple of years and they have ventured from just women and men’s clothes. Forever 21 carries a very wide assortment of merchandise and now caters to children and plus size women. The fashions of Forever 21 have a lower price point than most other chain stores so the fact that they are affordable items to attain and manufacturing is cheaper it is easier to expand their stores across the globe. Forever reaches its audience mobile all across the glove via the Forever 21 app because the CRM enables the brand to research their consumers by knowing their demographics and what they like and catering to the consumer and allowing interactions with the brand to be easier. “We’re looking to scale our online and mobile business faster, drive more return on ad spend and increase revenue through paid channels. Consumer Behavior

...1. Introduction “I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.” (Bill Cosby) The reason is because there are no two people that have exactly same likes and dislikes. Everybody in this world is different. Hence trying to make everyone happy at the same time merely blow the pleaser’s mind off. Taking that quote into consideration, it is not only true to an individual but also to every industry. A business cannot aim to sell their products to the whole market, because every customer has different wants and needs. Only a group of similar consumers that suites the products’ property best should be considered, so the business can use the right marketing strategy. In other words, business should segment their market in order to have clear image about their customers. Thus the business would make high profit by selling right product to right customers. 2. The Puerto Rican militia - headed by Correa - had only thirty men, armed with just spears and machetes, who fought the British, who were better armed with muskets and swords. At the end of the battle there were twenty-two British dead on land and 8 at sea, including the captain in charge of the troops that landed, who had died in the hands of Correa. Correa himself was wounded but the British left and the city of Arecibo was saved - as a result Correa was declared a national hero.[1] [edit] Honors and later years Arecibo Coat of Arms Correa was awarded "La Medalla de Oro de la Real Efigie" (The Gold Medal of the Royal Image), by King Philip V of Spain and given the title of "Captain of Infantry" on September 23, 1703. ...move around the economy. Money also allowed individuals and firms to generate wealth and increase it. This is achieved when one can readily purchase produced items and sell them for a higher value than they were purchased. The existence of money allows goods and services to get to the people who need them. 2. Money also acts as a store of value, this is where one can sell a commodity, in return for money and be able to be reliably saved, stored, and retrieved. 3. The most important role money plays is it acts as a unit of account. This is a common standard by which all the market value of goods, services, and other transactions can be measured and compared. Without this the value of an economy could not be calculated. 4. With gold completely divorced from money, initially the British pound sterling was the world's reserve currency after World War II. With Britain's demise on the international scene the US and its dollar become the world's reserve currency. The US receives its legitimacy not from any intrinsic value but due to the global standing in the US and its ability to press the world to view global products using the dollar. This means for any nation wanting to purchase oil or platinum in the international markets they would need to convert their currency into dollars and then take possession of such goods. This means...
