...Schools should not go to a four day week. Schools need to stay on a five day week method. During the five day school week students prove to be more productive. Four day weeks do have welfare and hurtful origins, this includes better time management, disadvantages to pupils, and teachers need to have a say in the decision. Spread out over the four days the lost day results only in about ten extra minutes per class period (Harfield, Brian). Four day school weeks give you more time to sleep in and more time off. People that go to church and have five day school weeks don’t get to sleep in. People with four day school weeks have more time to do homework, and an extra day to sleep in. During this time off we can have more time to spend with family also breaks could be longer. Moreover; about 100 of the country’s approximately 15,000 school districts, in seventeen states, use four-day school week’s method (Hartfield)....

Basketball for 30 Days

...Matt Alwine February 13, 2013 English 30 Days of the Association “Just play. Have fun. Enjoy the game.” This quote is from the best basketball player in the world, Michael Jordan. I kept this quote in my mind while I did my 30 day challenge. It took me many days to think of what to do for my 30 day challenge, I changed my mind many different times. When I finally thought of something that I was actually excited about, I stuck with it and decided to do it. For the 30 days I am going to play basketball every day, so I can try and improve my basketball skills. I am not only going to work on just shooting; I am also going to work on my athletic ability, jumping, passing, leadership, foul shots, and shooting. For the 30 days I will be trying many activities to improve the areas I have just listed. My research question will be: In 30 days can I improve my athletic ability, jumping, passing, leadership, foul shots, and over all shooting? I will try to improve my skills over the next 30 days by doing many things that I have done my research on and found drills and practices. While I try and improve my overall basketball skills I will also improve my overall health but I will not record it because that is not my main goal. Playing basketball for 30 days will not be hard for me because I use to play basketball every day when I was in high school however when I came to Ball State I have maybe played three times all year. I have played basketball for most of my life and I want to...

Research Process

...Research Process The ultimate goal of the student data collection is to determine the average monetary expense of furthering one’s education for one calendar year. The subjects of this paper are students of the University of Phoenix’s Bucks County Campus. The cost of obtaining a higher education at this university is approximated by using a focus group, consisting of four learning team members. Constructs, such as tuition cost, travel expense and resource expense data from each subject will be explored. In order to effectively measure the information obtained from the focus group, controls are implemented on the data. This study assumes that each student travels to and from the campus twice a week. The first trip is made to attend class and the second trip is made so that each student can participate in a physical learning team meeting. Since the duration of each class is five weeks in length, the analysis used is based on 10 trips to the University of Phoenix campus. Each student will complete 10 courses per calendar year. The distance involved in traveling to the campus will be measured by mileage, price of gasoline, and tolls. Another measurement is tuition cost per course. The constructs for the tuition cost include tuition reimbursement and out-of-pocket expense. Travel expenses were calculated based on current gasoline average cost of $2.69 per gallon. Mileages per gallon calculations were based on 17 miles per gallon of gasoline from participant’s home to the...

Profile of Working Students and It' S Implication on Academic Standing

...CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION Not all people are given the chance to have a quality education especially in the Philippines because it is now complicated. That’s why having the chance to study and choosing the course should not be compared to some thing like for an example buying a dress for a special occasion and when realization comes into your mind that you don’t want it, you’ll return it or maybe get your money back. No, this isn’t right, because in college life, you have to treat every second as an important detail of your life. You should not waste every moment in it. So choosing the course which you think fits your capabilities is very important. Studying a specific course in college is not only about paying the fees rather the most important things here are the time and effort spent. Money, time and effort are the most precious things in one’s life and once it is used or spent, it’s hard to gain again or worst you may never have it at all. So the time these are wasted for nothing, for sure the blame for this mistake will be felt truly. When looking at the profile of those students who are working and at the same time is studying, you would notice that they never dare wasting their time. For them, every second counts. Make an observation and you will find out that almost all of the working students are working too hard to finish their studies. For them, wasting their effort, time and money is such a big mistake.
