Fright Night Fright night is a horror and comedy movie. Directed and written by Tom Holland, released in 1985. Fright Night is about a teenager that discovers a vampire lives in the house next door, but no one will believe him. THESIS?? Nose que poner! Setting and time of the movie is what most of the audience commonly wants to know about. The screen time of the movie is of 106 minutes, but the duration in the movie’s story is less than a month. The movie took these weeks to explain and emphasize each scene correctly. This time was to show exactly scene-by-scene since the beginning of the story, how the character discovers something and his struggle to prove it. The setting of the story is in a neighborhood, where the main character lives in. This neighborhood is located in Culver City, California in the United States. Most of the story takes place in that neighborhood, the key moments of the movie happen in there. The genre of this movie is comedy and horror. Fright Night movie uses horror to scare the audience, but in most of the scenes comedy was involved. Characters are critically important for the creation of a good movie. The protagonist is a teenager called Charlie Brewster, acted by the great actor William Ragsdale. The antagonist is a vampire called Jerry Dandridge, interpreted by the actor Chris Sarandon. Some other main characters are Charlie’s girlfriend Amy Peterson, Charlie’s best friend Evil Ed, and Dr. Vincent, and old man who had a program about how to kill vampires. The plot of the movie is that Charlie discovers there was a vampire living in the house next door, he told his friends but no one believes him. During the movie Charlie tries to find a way to prove his friends that vampires exist, but when the Jerry the vampire finds out that Charlie had discovered him, he starts chasing Charlie. So Charlie had to problems now, prove to his friends that Jerry was a vampire, and scape from the vampire, because he wants to kill him. He asked Dr. Vincent to help him prove the truth; but Charlie discovers that Dr. Vincent did not even know how to kill a vampire, and that his program was a lie. The climax of the story is near the end of the story. Jerry Dandridge seduces Amy to go with him, and converts Evil into a vampire. Charlie needs to save them, and he needed to find a way to do it alone. Finally, Charlie and Dr. Vincent face the vampire risking their own lives. Values during the movie are just expressed by the main character. Charlie is a very brave and successful boy; he fights until he got what he wants. He protects his loved ones, by risking his life. Amy and Evil are not great friends, because friends should believe each other, and they do not believe in Charlie, not even a little. Dr. Vincent is a very coward and liar man; he supposedly knows every thing about vampires in his program, but the truth is that his program is all a lie. Jerry Dandridge the vampire has no values; he just likes killing people to get his blood. The special effects of the movie are very good to be filmed during that time. When we see the movie in the present we can thinks that the effects are not good at all, because right know there is so much technology and different ways to make great effects while filming movies. However, during that time when Fright Night was filmed technology was not that advanced. The best special effect of the movie is when Jerry turns into a vampire, because it looks so real. The dark light used during the movie helps a lot to enhance the story of the movie. The clothing of the characters is also very good, especially the costume of the vampire. Each character is describing their personality by they way they are dressing. Camera angles are perfect; each scene has the best angle for it. The movie is rated R, which means that children under 17 need to be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian. It is rated like thins because it has some sex scenes, and because children under 17 can get really scared about some other scenes. This movie is perfect for adults, because they will enjoy laughing, but at the same time they will get surprised and scared.
