From Best to Worst Fairy Tail is an on-going Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hiro Mashima. The story revolves around the adventures of a magic guild named Fairy Tail—one of the foremost magic guilds in the land of Fiore. This is a shounen manga (aimed at a young male audience) and has several other genres such as action, adventure, comedy and fantasy. It has been published in Weekly Shounen Magazine since August 2, 2006. The volumes are released by Kodansha since December 15, 2006 and at present it has already 47 volumes. It also has an anime adaptation which started broadcasting in TV Tokyo on October 12, 2009. Fairy Tail is considered one of the mainstream manga and anime nowadays. It even has a Filipino dubbed version. (Fairy Tail Wiki) Although it is loved by many manga and anime enthusiast, there are several flaws I noticed when I read and watched it. These bothering flaws made me stop anticipating its weekly update. Years ago, this was my most favorite of all. But not anymore. Fairy Tail is one of the worst anime I have ever known. How was I able to have a hundred and eighty degree turn? There are three main reasons why. Reason number one: The animation and illustration have been inconsistent. The manga did not retain its old illustration. In the first few chapters, characters appeared more mature because of the sharp lines and pointed shapes. At present, their appearances changed into
Tapan 2 something younger because of smoother lines and more curves. This style fits their characters more and is better because it can relate to most of their audience. What isn’t great is the extreme modification in animation. The change of the company which makes adaptations was the main factor for this. The old animation was better because the drawings followed the style of illustrations in

Conflict

...During times of conflict we are tested, conflict can evoke the best and worst out of individuals based on how they react and cope with it, without conflict we can never know what we are truly capable of. Many figures throughout history have shown how conflict brings out the best and the worst in them; this is also shown in the film Paradise road which is directed by Bruce Beresford. The My Lai massacre is an example of how conflict brings out the best and the worst and people, the My Lai massacre was when a group of American soldiers couldn’t cope with the stress of Guerrilla Warfare against the Vietcong troops, and under their lieutenants command they fired upon the village of My Lai decimating all inhabitants which included women and children. This is a clear example of how conflict brought out the worst in these individuals, they war in a foreign land and the constant stress of being killed finally tore them up internally so they open fired and killed innocent civilians. Although it seems that only the worst arose from the conflict in My Lai, some of the best did come from it, an example is the brave chopper pilot Hugh Laury so put himself and his men on the line to save the civilians. Laury even went as far as ordering his men to fire on the American troops if they didn’t stop shooting at the Vietnamese village; this is a clear cut example of how the best of a person can arise from conflict, his morality didn’t waver , even in the face of the evil around and amongst him...

Voltaire's Candide: The Worst Of All Possible Worlds

...Candide: The Worst of All Possible Worlds In Voltaire’s book, Candide, the main character undergoes numerous hardships and grueling tasks that help support the fact that Candide does not live in the best of all possible worlds. A perfect example is that throughout the whole book, Candide is forced to kill multiple people. In the best of all possible worlds, Candide would have never needed to kill anyone. Also Candide was searching for Cunegonde almost the whole book, only to be disappointed with an ugly Cunegonde. Pangloss believes that they live in the best of all possible worlds. This statement is false. With all the events that have gone against this belief, there is no way Candide could possibly live in the best of all possible worlds. In order to argue that Candide lives in the worst of all possible worlds, one must define what the best of all possible worlds is like. In a best of all possible worlds, Candide would have not encountered any of the negative and bad events along his journey. He wouldn’t have had to kill numerous people and to begin with the journey wouldn't have existed. This is because...

The National Football League is one of the biggest sports franchises in the world. Every year the NFL hosts a championship game called the Super Bowl. 32 teams compete in 16 games, and the best move on into the playoffs. For the last 48 years two teams battle it out for bragging right as the best team in the NFL. The Super Bowl has gone down in history as the best championship game ever assembled in the history of any sport. Did you know that the Super Bowl started 49 years ago? On January 15th, 1967 was the debut of the first ever Super Bowl in Los Angeles, CA. The Green Bay Packers took on the Kansas City Chiefs. During this time the NFL had a rival league called the American Football League. The Chiefs were a part of the AFL and the Packers were a part of the NFL. This is the first and only Super Bowl where it was the AFL vs. NFL before both leagues merged into one. The Packers beat the Chiefs 35-10 and were the fans favorite. NBC and CBS both televised the game collectively racking in 51.18 million viewers (Unknown, 2014). This was the first and last time that two networks televised a Super Bowl game at the...

Robert G. Cooper and Scott J. Edgett OVERVIEW: Most firms now use some form of idea-to-launch process such as a Stage-Gate® system. The question is: Do these processes really work? And what are the elements of a best-in-class idea-to-launch system that really make a difference? A second and related question concerns the governance of the idea-to-launch model. Sadly there is a lack of hard evidence as to what governance structure works best and just what its impact is, if any. Swinging Weights

...Swinging Weights paper Swing weights are assigned through the supposed increase of each criterion's performance from the worst to the best value. The criterion which represent the highest boost to the total options' performance is assigned a value of 100, all the other criteria are compared respective to this criterion. As put by Belton and Stewart (2002) put it, "if a swing from worst to best on the most highly weighted criterion is assigned a value of 100, what is the relative value of a swing from worst to best on the second ranked criterion"? Trade-off means that a very low score in one criterion may not be compensated with a very high score in another one. The SAW decision rule described in chapter 2.6.1 allows full tradeoff. The MAXIMAX decision rule, in which the decision maker selects the option with the maximal scores in the best criterion, and the MAXIMIN rule, by which the option with the best scores in the worst criterion is selected, don’t allow any tradeoff as the decision is made according only to one criterion. Belton, V. and Stewart, J. (2002). Multiple criteria decision analysis: An integrated approach. Kluwer, Boston, Dodrecht and London. 366pp MAKING TRADE-OFFS This complexity may be resolved by making trade-offs between objectives, which entails determining a trade-off or substitution ratio; how much of one can be surrendered in order to achieve another. In practice, this is usually done intuitively when a choice is...

Best and Worst of Spending

...The Best and Worst of Spending Barbara Cook-Snider ECO203: Principles of Macroeconomics Instructor: Marlo Chavarria February 20, 2012 The Best and Worst of Spending I am writing a paper in response to my class, Principles of Macroeconomics, in which we are to speak about the government deficit and what our thoughts are based on research. It’s easy to speak of what and why our deficit is so high, but there are many different opinions of how to fix it. Maybe there is no one certain way this can be done, I, mean to balance the budget without cutting many well deserved programs is a tough nut to crack. Let’s first look at why the budget is so high and what part does all this play in our growth rate that is affecting our economy today. “Sources for economic growth occurs when (1) society acquires more resources or (2) society discovers way of using available resources more efficiently. For economic growth to increase living standards, the rate of growth must exceed the rate of population increase. The economic growth is generally defined as an increase in real GDP per capita” (Case, Fair, Oster, 2009) “The current economic situation in the United States and most of the world is as precarious as it has been in decades. Despite the current, welcome feeling that we seem to have pulled back from the precipice of out-and-out global economic depression, the trends are negative in far too many areas -- most obviously, in the continued loss of jobs. I should...
