This affected the fields in mathematics and science where they have to deal with a lot of math. Nicely discovered the problem around June 1994 he was the one that noticed it in two sets of numbers and did some tests on 486 and Pentium-based computers, Dr. Nicely was certain that the error is caused by the Pentium Processor. Dr. Nicely then contacts Intel Technical Support on October 24, 1994 Intel technical support then duplicates the problem and confirms it, but it was not reported before.
