Marketing shows consumers the value of a company, product, or service. A company may show customers what the company is doing for the community; or how a product or service benefits the customer. Their different philosophes companies use to develop a marketing strategy. The company may focus on its own needs or on the consumers needs. The Geoffry B. Small Company uses one marketing philosophy on a global scale to let consumers know about their quality product and environmental activism.
There are many similarities and differences between the four marketing management philosophies. Production orientation marketing, like sales orientation marketing, focuses’ on the companies own needs, but instead of aggressive sales the company strives to make a better product. Marketing orientation and sales orientation are two philosophies that are a direct contrast of one another. A sales orientation approach focuses on the needs and wants of the company utilizing aggressive sales tactics. Utilizing the marketing orientation focuses on what the needs of the market’s needs and wants. Societal marketing orientation is similar to marketing orientation by focusing on the markets needs and wants. However, societal marketing orientation also looks to benefit society as a whole such as being an environmental activist. (Lamb, 2014)
The Geoffry B. Small Company predominately delivers a societal marketing orientation. (Lamb, 2014) The consumers of the Geoffry B. Small Company want a product that is unique and has handcrafted notes. While the company delivers the unique product they also demonstrate activism for the environment.
Geoffry B. Small’s concept of marketing is to create a unique and high quality product that the customer needs and will last; also focuses his company to take an activist role in the community. Geoffry
