GIRLS' EDUCATION İN MOROCCO

The men and women are two wheels of the society. If one the falls defective, the society cannot make progress. So we need education for the women as we need for the males. Educated females are very important because they become role models, leaders, and most importantly, mothers. If they are educated, their children which can break the cycle of poverty and lift a society. In different countries there are many several perspective about education of girls. It is a well-known fact that generally muslim countries except for countries, which don't become westernized, have lots of biases about females' education. In this essay I shall analyze girls' education in Morocco.
First of all the statistics show that around 60% of women in Morocco are illiterate and also in some rural areas more than 90% cannot read. These numbers are incredibly terrible.
However many educated women in Morocco also they are spiritual leaders, who are called
Morchidats, have a mission to teach “true Islam” to girls and women. They believe that Islam based on compassion tolerence and equality. They are trying to seperate its true teaching from bias, misunderstanding and misinterpretation. Simply their aim is that they are striving to build a better society with gender equality, acsess to education easily. By the way they against early marriages that is to say underage marriage, because many women are still forced to marry older man.
Morcidats has important role in society; their work takes them into mosques, schools, homes and also orphanages. They give lots of advice and speech to females about how to be better Morocco with education in there. On the other hand many men consider that the girls and the women should not be educated and they should look after their children and work in field. Generally these men do not agree that women are important role in the society. They are against equality of women's and men's rights.
However education of girls are supporting equality. Actually they deny the freedoom of women, because they are aware of rights and powers of women who perceive as a threat of educated women. They consider that they lose their control over the women if they are educated. One of the men in Morocco said that “girls are just a time bomb ready to explode and ruin the family's reputation at any point.” This thought is widespread. All in all despite to men who consider like that these women achieved a great deal.
Yes, men are important in society, they are half of a society; but what is the other half?
Women. Women make up the other half. Men and women need to keep working together to achieve a healty society.
As I mentioned above women become role models for their children. Shortly it is a simple but difficult balance to achieve.
