Goodwill Industries International is a nonprofit organization that started as a small operation in a parish for the purpose of helping struggling immigrants by giving them the opportunity for work. Today, there are more than 2,600 locations worldwide. Goodwill has become known for it's dedication in helping to provide employment for those who lack education and job experience. They have accomplished this through the use of the P-O-L-C framework.
The objective of Goodwill is to provide a "hand up" instead of a "hand out." This idea was conceived by a missionary in Boston more than 100 years ago. His idea to put his plan into action was to offer work to those who were unable to find employment elsewhere. The job was to clean and repair clothing and goods donated and prepare them for resale. The once small operation is now a very large organization.
The organizational structure of Goodwill Industries is unique in that it's management and operations is spread out with 179 autonomous non-profit human services organizations. They all focus on employing people from all walks of life. Goodwill has also created programs for individuals with criminal backgrounds to help with work skill development and offer job placement assistance.
Goodwill has become an advocate for diversity and leads by example. Through the programs that they have created they have established diversity as an organizational norm and inspire each of it's stores to follow these principles. Seattle's Goodwill focuses on helping out it's large immigrant population and provide employment to those without education and language skills.
The practices of Goodwill follow the triple bottom line and there are steps taken to ensure they do not deviate from these standards. To maintain their core mission, they put 84% of their revenue back into programs to provide employment. In order to improve performance,

I think the biggest benefit for companies that promotes used clothes is that, it is cheap and that the concept of a thift store benefits the society. Mostly, I would go buy a pair of jeans, or normal everyday t-shirt than I can wear to work or college.
