Will broke down and cried and hugged the therapist, lowered his defence mechanism, shows his willingness to open up himself, Will has blamed himself and hated himself, therefore, the phrase “it is not your fault” touches his heart.
Will was hurt by his parents who left him, he wanted to revenge and asserted himself by hating the whole world, by saying that he is tough and does not need the love
