The statement in the article “customer can spot a turkey when they see one “This statement means when a customer sees a good product or service, they buy it. It also says that 82 percent of products failed last year just because there was no real need for it. Basically this article is about the consumer trends with respect to the given market strategy and how many different product and services and their market strategy results into a success or a failure. It also mentions that research is one of the very important components of marketing without it; it’s very hard to get right target market or any customer at all. The customer changes with time so it’s important for the business to change with them and they also need to change the product and way they price it as well.
The author in this article has mentioned that rather than spending millions of pounds on television advertisement one should use social media to interact with people as it is a better way of advertisement. If this is the case then why would the huge companies spend so much on television advertisements? It’s because still it’s the best way to reach a larger target market and many people who are not much interactive with the social media are surely more interactive with televisions. Whereas the “word of mouth” can be very helpful but on a small scale and it’s not something one can be entirely dependent upon.
The introduction of digital media has let the customer be more involved in the marketing strategy as many businesses ask their customer to design their 4 p’s so that they can give a perfect product to customer. The article also highlights that the social media is now rapidly expanding due to which the marketing department does not have to wait for a long time to get the response of people in this way they get a quick response of people
