This society has developed since the Paleolithic times when nomadic people were hunters and gatherers; it has advanced to new technologies and scientific improvements. Especially, the Green Revolution in 1945 is a worldwide introduction of new technologies and scientifically enhanced crops that increased food supply and agricultural prosperity Furthermore, the Green Revolution has many causes and both positive and negative effects. The documents explain these causes and effects, for example Documents 3,4, and 5 describe the causes of the Green Revolution, according to the people promoting it and documents 1,2 and 4 describe the cause to be the need for a higher food supply and more agriculture. Finally, Documents 3,7 and 9 showed the effect of the Green Revolution on societal standards. The Green Revolution had many causes, the causes according to people trying to promote it vary. In Document 3, President Harry Truman’s inaugural address in 1949; this period of time was during the cold war of 1947- 1991 where Russia was the enemy and the United States grew against communism. In the document, President Truman describes how impoverished people are a threat to the United States since they will ultimately turn to communism. However, in the document he states about the benefits we should provide the peace- loving people which in that time of chaos where the United States; this shows that he really doesn’t care about The Green Revolution and it is only used as a political tool to indirectly promote anti-communism through The Green Revolution; and stating that the cause of the Green Revolution is the need to end these impoverished areas. Moreover, in Document 4 Dr. Norman Borlaug, a United States agricultural scientist involved in Green Revolution research and Nobel Prize winner in 1970; stated that the The Green Revolution provided a chance of success and a break from suffering for many people
