1) Key competencies
Competencies are defined as a set of behaviours and knowledge that enables a person to do its job properly.1 Competencies and knowing which competencies are needed are most important for a company. McClelland analysed in its paper from 1973 already that it is better for a company to test on a person’s competencies than on its intelligence.2 Not every job position needs the most intelligent person but the person who takes the job needs to have the requested competencies to fulfil the job.
