Old Markets:
The vibrant and exotic atmosphere of Delhi markets has been one of the main shopping centers in India. In fact, Delhi has the best markets in India, with handicrafts from all over the country. Delhi has various traditional markets such as Dilli Hat, Janpath and Tibetan markets, Paharganj and Chandni Chowk . These markets have very narrow lanes with lining up of old building. Its has always remained a crowded allay over the years

Delhi and the NCR are always not short of malls. The shopping malls in Delhi represent the ultimate cure in retail therapy. A wide range of goods are available at one stop zone Delhi. The eclectic collection of wares has always attracted the customers. The ambience and feel of ecstasy has been its salient features. Gurgaon, NCR of Delhi has over the years experienced tremendous growth. As an icon of this today there stand many malls which are spaciously constructed, providing a secure shopping and hassle free environment
To study about the traditional markets and new age market two markets were selected, Chandni Chowk and Ambience Mall
Chandni Chowk:
Chandni Chowk is a historic market in Delhi. This market was formed more than 350 years ago. The largest trading center of North India, it is also known by the name of moonlit square. Today the market is home to several different stores. The market is home to mostly traditional vendors. These include vendors that sell mostly traditional Indian goods. There are a number of by-lanes in Chandni Chowk Market, each specializing in a particular field. For example, the parathewali gali is famous for delicious parathas, the textile lane for its textiles, Kinari Bazaar famous for saris of any and every kind. It can offer anything and everything that one may need for an Indian bridal wears to fashion wears. The market is always been buzzing with activities.

Customers:
The predominant customers of Chandni Chowk are Low and Middle Income Groups. But there is a substantial amount of higher income group peoples. Predominantly Female customers exceed as the place is known for shopping of saris, salwar kameez and other female wears.

Shop Owners/Proprietors: Since the market has been the oldest in the city, so as been the shopkeepers. There are third generation owners who has been running the shops Most of the shops are run as a family managed business. Most of them have a set of loyal customers.
