Prisoner Health: HIV infection and, other blood-borne viral infections.

The topic is prisoner healthcare and, HIV infection and, other blood-borne viral infections. The paper is to let you know what the agency plans and, what they are doing to help the prisoners get the proper care that they need not only for them but for the guards, other prisoners safety. The role of the agency is to establish sound data regarding the extant of the problem and, how problematic it can be if there is nothing done. The data will help let the agencies know what has to be done and, how bad this is in the prisons. What type of plan that they have how much this is going to cost them? They also can check in to a grant to help with the cost. The Health Protection Agency Prison Infection Prevention Team is the name of the agency that is trying to help improve the health care in our prisons this is what we need to help the spread of infections in the prisons. They are the agency that gathers all the data and, they do research on men and, women on what their problems and concerns are. They need to see what the needs of the prisoners are what they are getting and, what they are not getting that they need. How they are getting treated and, what are the complaints are if not. Are they being offered quality manner in a timely manner. The impact on healthcare I think this is costing us a lot of money in tax dollars for the cost of care for them also they are using condoms in the prisons this is for the spread of HIV but what is the cost to us. The cost is high for the cost of condoms and the needs and, health care costs. We understand the prisoners should be offered the same healthcare as people out

...vanek-140512-620-thumb-620xauto-370865 Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin skates amid a drill at the group's preparation camp on Friday in Arlington, Va. In the first place year Capitals mentor Barry Trotz needs Ovechkin to turn into a more finish player and the initial phase, in the seat manager's eyes, is to recover the Russian objective scorer on the left wing. (Scratch Wass/Associated Press) Alex Ovechkin moved again to left wing by new mentor Barry Trotz As though he knew the inquiry was impending, Alex Ovechkin grinned when asked what his new mentor needs him to take a shot at. "On backcheck?" Ovechkin said from Arlington, Va. An alternate season, an alternate opportunity to discover whether one of the class' most gifted objective scorers can genuinely assist some all the more on resistance. The Washington Capitals opened preparing camp Friday with new mentor Barry Trotz, who says he'll work, as different mentors have before him, to make the three-time group MVP into a more finish player. On the off chance that Day 1 is any evidence, Ovechkin sounds prepared to be a co-agent understudy. "On the off chance that you need to be great," he said, "you need to chip away at everything." Step No. 1, as Trotz had shown at one time, is moving Ovechkin once more to left wing, turning around a seismic movement under past mentor Adam Oates. Ovechkin headed the NHL with 51 objectives keep going season playing generally on the right, however his in addition to short was less 35, and...

Legal, Safety, and Regulatory Requirement

...Effects of Legal, Safety and Regulatory Requirements Teresa A. Davis University of phoenix Mary Newby HCS/341 Aug 27, 2012 Legal, Safety, And Regulatory Requirement In the United States, human resources managers must follow state and federal laws related to employment, labor relations and wages. Human resources managers must have a strong understanding of the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and applicable state laws. What is Title Vll? Title VII, the federal law that prohibits most workplace harassment and discrimination, covers all private employers, state and local governments, and educational institutions with 15 or more employees. In addition to prohibiting discrimination against workers because of race, color, national origin, religion, and sex, those protections have been extended to include barring against discrimination on the basis of pregnancy, sex stereotyping, and sexual harassment of employees. Currently, Title VII doesn’t include discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. However federal legislation adding sexual orientation as a protected class against discrimination (the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA)), has been proposed in recent years. Many states have employment discrimination and harassment laws as well and may include even more protected classes – such as marital status and...

Legal Safety and Regulatory Paper

...Legal, Safety, and Regulatory Requirements Paper HCS – 341 Human Resources in Healthcare Instructor John Hulsebus, MBA, SPHR We define compassion as an empathetic emotional response to another person’s pain or suffering that moves people to act in a way that will either ease the person’s condition or make it more bearable (Lilius, 2003). The legal, safety, and regulatory impact on the human resource department greatly vary by which type of business and which type of employees. The rights of both employer and employee are covered by several different entities such as the National Labor Relations Board, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. These have been set in place by the United States so as to protect both employer and employee from unfair acts on either’s part. In the few following paragraphs the effect of legal, safety, and regulatory requirements on the human resource process, an insight into the statement “Common sense and compassion in the workplace has been replaced by litigation”, and a brief look at the impact of the Department of Labor, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, The American’s Disability Act of 1990 on the human resource processes. The individuals within the human resource department must be well versed in all the laws and regulations as set by the United States as they are expected to abide by these laws and rules. Once the potential employee has signed an employment contract...

Walmart in the Adirondacks

...Walmart in Saranac Lake In the Adirondack Mountains of New York State, there is a quaint village named Saranac Lake. Saranac Lake has a population of roughly 5000 people that reside there year around. It has been proposed the Wal-Mart open a store in Saranac Lake. I have been hired by the Saranac Lake local government to consult on whether or not to allow Wal-Mart to move into their Adirondack community. As expected, there are opinions both for and against Wal-Mart moving in here. There are many advantages and disadvantages to take into consideration before making a firm recommendation to this community. I, for one, believe that the disadvantages of a Wal-Mart opening in Saranac Lake far outweigh the advantages. ADVANTAGES & DISADVANTAGES: There are advantages and disadvantages to a Wal-Mart opening in Saranac Lake. A few advantages are: 1. Residents of Saranac Lake wouldn’t have to drive roughly 50 miles to get to the nearest department type store. 2. The opening of a Wal-Mart would bring lots of jobs to Saranac Lake and would therefore boost the economy. 3. The potential for a green Wal-Mart to open would allow the Saranac Lake community to continue being environmentally friendly, as it currently is. A few disadvantages to opening a Wal-Mart in Saranac Lake are: 1. The population of Saranac Lake is roughly 5,000 people. 2. In an effort to refute Wal-Mart, the residents of Saranac Lake opened their own department store in town, which the residents...

A conceptual model is derived and tested via structural equation modelling. Findings indicate food safety as the most important predictor of attitude while health consciousness appears to be the least important motive in contrast to findings from some previous research. In addition, ethical self identity is found to predict both attitudes and intention to purchase organic produce emphasizing that respondents’ identification with ethical issues affects their attitudes and subsequent consumption choices. Key words: organic foods, health consciousness, food safety, ethical self-identity, structural equation modeling, attitudes and intentions, rural consumers. Background The organic food market has grown substantially over recent years across the globe (Giffort & Bernard 2006;...

...IMPACT OF INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL ON FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE - AN EMPERICAL STUDY ON THE INDIAN BANKING SECTOR. Abstract: Purpose: Present study makes an attempt to examine the impact of intellectual capital on financial performance of firms based on a sample consisting of 12 Indian banking companies which constituted the CNX Banking index of NSE during 2012-13. More specifically, it seeks to examine the impact of the IC represented by VAIC and the value added, on corporate financial performance measured by return on assets, earnings per share, and return on equity. Design/methodology/approach: In this study VAIC™ is considered as a key valuation model for measuring the IC performance of Indian Banking Companies. Capital employed, human capital and structural capital are used as components of intellectual capital and return on assets (ROA), return on equity (ROE) and Earning Per Share (EPS) indexes are used as criteria of financial performance. The value of three performance measures i.e. Return on Equity (ROE), Return on Assets (ROA), and Earning Per Share (EPS) are obtained from the annual reports of respective banks, whereas the values of VAIC and Value added are computed using appropriate formula and the ranking is made. The companies having highest value is ranked 1, next highest is ranked as 2, and so on. Next, a bar chart is prepared using the computed values of HCE, SCE, CEE representing various components of intellectual capital efficiency which constitute the VAIC...

...Consumer purchase intention for organic personal care products Hee Yeon Kim and Jae-Eun Chung Department of Consumer Sciences, The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA Abstract Purpose – Using the theory of planned behavior (TPB) to examine the effects of consumer values and past experiences on consumer purchase intention of organic personal care products, this study aims to consider further the moderating effect of perceived behavioral control on the attitudeintention relationship. Design/methodology/approach – An online survey was conducted with 207 online panel members, and multiple regression analysis was used to test the relationships among the variables. Findings – The results indicate that environmental consciousness and appearance consciousness positively influence attitude toward buying organic personal care products. The addition of past experiences as a predictor of purchase intention and perceived behavioral control as a moderator of the attitude-purchase intention relationship yielded an improvement on the TPB model. Practical implications – This study suggests that retailers can develop effective marketing strategies emphasizing ecological beauty, product safety, and affordable prices to increase consumers’ intentions to buy organic personal care products. Originality/value – This study provides valuable insight into US consumer behavior regarding organic personal care products by examining the factors that influence consumers’ attitudes toward buying organic...
