Stevens, as a community hospital, has expectations of good performance and desires of continued success for the organization as a whole. Stevens takes great pride in their educational endeavors for the community and staff. Stevens Hospital currently services the majority of Lakewood and Fulton counties, as well as metro Houston. Part of the focus of Steven’s Board of Directors is to achieve national academic recognition. Stevens has several educational outreach programs set in place to further provide health care information to the community. Their mission statement helps to explain the goal and vision for the organization:
“Stevens improves the health of the community by providing quality, comprehensive healthcare in a compassionate, culturally competent, ethical and fiscally responsible manner. Stevens maintains its commitment and dedication to the underserved of Lakewood and DeKalb counties, while also providing care for residents of metro Houston and Texas. Stevens leads through its clinical excellence, innovative research and progressive medical education and training.”
The vision statement summarizes the goal for Stevens Hospital, “Stevens Health System will become the leading public academic healthcare system in the United States.”

Stevens Hospital’s principles and values set the foundation for the possibility of reaching their future goal. Their principles and core values include excellence, customer service, ethics, teamwork, and commitment.

It is crucial for Stevens Hospital to understand and value the community in which it exist in. Stevens is located in the busy city of metro Houston. Since the immediate area is diverse both in nationality and economically, Stevens offer basic and location based services. A drug manufacturing company needs to step back and look at the problems of lack of communication and fix standard ethics. This simply can be resolved with the sales rep and administrative systems. The sales rep is responsible for giving the doctor the warnings of side effects; the doctor is responsible for giving the patient the warning of side effects. The administrative staff is responsible for hiring sales representatives. Now being as the patient is a famous figure in our community, this patient has a high authority on social media, and has attention of a high volume of viewers. The Drug manufacturing company needs to address this very soon, send out statements to the media coverage, social media, and websites to keep people informed, the main goal is to keep people buying/taking the product. Being a Communications Coordinator for a company, I would first take full responsibility for the lack of communication within the internal communication of our company. I would then address my company possibly letting the Media know I am addressing my employees and how we are going to handle this.
