Personal Health Assessment
The six dimensions of health are: physical wellness, emotional wellness, intellectual wellness, spiritual wellness, interpersonal and social wellness, and environmental or planetary wellness. I would have to say that out of these six dimensions my strongest three would have to be emotional wellness, spiritual wellness, and interpersonal and social wellness. Being not in any particular order I am going to discuss why I feel these are my three strongest dimensions of health. Once I read that the qualities of emotional wellness were trust, self esteem, self acceptance, self confidence, self control, satisfying relationships, and one having the ability to share feelings, I knew right away that this dimension was one of my strongest areas. I am a kind loving trust worthy person, therefore I have tendency to feel that all individuals are trust worthy as well. I love the relationship that I am currently in with my significant other as well as with my family it is a very satisfying one for all parties involved. I am able to share the feeling that I have about by mate to him as well as with others around us. We love and enjoy each being with each other, and this is a very good feeling. Due to my current and pass relationships I have good self esteem and self control. I have also accepted myself for who I am and I love myself for being the woman and mother that I am becoming.

My second strongest dimension of health would be spiritual wellness. I would have to say this because the text stated that in order for one to enjoy spiritual health means one possesses a set of guiding beliefs, principles, or values that give meaning and purpose to ones’ life, especially during difficult times. As a small child I was brought up in the church and was taught to have faith as well as other religious beliefs. The spiritual things that I have acquired throughout my childhood life I have and will continue to use them throughout my adult years. I have continued to pass those beliefs on to my family. We practice these beliefs in our lives on a daily basis. This makes a fun, loving, happy family. The text also stated that spiritual wellness involves the capacity for love, compassion, forgiveness, altruism, joy and fulfillment. I quoted that phrase to let you know, there are difficult times but our religion has taught us that there is going to be trials and tribulations. However it also tells us to look to the hills for which cometh our health. To me and my family this mean that whatever is meant for us we will have and no man can prevent that nor can he take it way.
My third strongest dimension if health is the interpersonal and social wellness. Once I read the description of this particular wellness I knew that this described me all the way. I am an individual who need to have mutually loving, supportive people in my life. In reading the text I learned that developing interpersonal wellness means learning good communication skills, developing the capacity for intimacy, and cultivating a support network of caring friends and family. Social wellness requires participating in and contributing to your community, country and world. All of these qualities mentioned
Personal Health Assessment 3 above best describe me. I have very good communication skills I love people therefore I love to communicate with them. Some may say that I am a very touchy feely kind of person. Being a people person is one of my best qualities and I find that this type of quality can take you very far in life. Of the three remaining dimensions I feel that the one I need to improve is physical wellness. Physical wellness requires one to eat well, exercise, avoid harmful habits, and get regular medical and dental checkups. I have only mentioned a few of the requirements there are several more. I only mentioned these because they are the ones that I am struggling with. I eat my fruits and vegetables and I stay away from candy however I love my fried foods and my chips. I am not over weight so I feel as though that is ok. Exercise what is that? I like beer and mixed drinks those are my harmful habits. I will attend all of my medical checkups however I can’t say the same for my dental checkups. Due to a bad experience with a dentist years ago I am terrified of them. It is important for me to address this dimension at this time because I am a mother of two and I want to lead by example when it comes down to our health. I also want to be able to physically interact with my children as well as be around to see them get old and have kids of their own. In order for me to improve my health in this domain I will need to eat better, exercise more, drink less and get over my fear of the dentist not only for me but for my kids also. I would like to learn how to get motivated and to stay motivated about being

Personal Health Assessment 4 healthy and living a healthy lifestyle in the years to come. Hopefully I will be able to master that by the end of this class.
