Heaven Called Tonight

AMK_2010

Heaven called tonight
And called our Buddy home.
They said it's time for him to be
Where he is free to roam.

They said he's now free to run
And that he will feel no more pain.
They said it's time for him to return
To the One who reigns.

I called out in angst and cried,
"Please God, don't take our faithful friend.
We cannot bear the pain and loss
Please--don't let this be the end."

The Lord replied, "No it's time,
For the loyal one to come.
I sent him to watch over you
And now his job is done."

“I asked him to comfort you
When you were overcome with fear.
When you were sad and lonely
He was asked to kiss away the tears."

"I asked him to help you understand
True forgiveness, love, and grace.
I asked him to show you the depth of my compassion
When you look upon his gentle face."

"I asked him to bring you laughter
And help all the pain subside.
I asked him to guide and protect you
And stay right by your side."

"I asked him to give you what no man can
When it comes to loyalty and faith.
I asked him to give you courage
When you have lost your strength."

Lord, he was the most faithful servant
And answered your mighty call.
He gave everything he had
To be a blessing to us all.

His devotion cannot be questioned
His dedication never ceased.
He was faithful to the end
Lord--you would be pleased.

We thank you for the priceless gift
You sent through our canine friend.
Our hearts will long for his compassion
Until we meet

The Importance of Sociology in a Society

...RELATIONSHIPS - PART ONE: UNDERSTANDING WHO YOU ARE Most of us have learned Bible teaches us mainly about two things.... 1. The first is our relationship with God. 2. The second is our relationship with one another. Every book in the bible deals with these two relationships. Almost everything that I talk about from this pulpit concerns our relationship with God. That is a good thing to talk about! Tonight though, I want to begin a new series concerning our relationship ourselves and with others. We are going to address relationships that deal with the husband, the wife, friends, and family, communication...but I want to begin this series tonight by talking about understanding yourself! The first key to understanding yourself is to understand... * Who you are. * Where you come from. * Where you are going. * What is your purpose. ...before you can be successful in any relationship...you must be able to understand yourself! Before you can be successful in your relationship with God you must be able to understand yourself! Tell the person next to you..."I am about to find out who I am." The bible says.... James 1:17-18 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. 18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. James, Jesus half brother, wrote...

How Does Fate Influence Macbeth's Decisions

...Who has control over one’s life? Who makes the decisions? Is now the right time? A person’s life is controlled by their decisions. This is called free will. In the play Macbeth , Macbeth made many decisions, he decided to kill King Duncan, as well as his best friend, Banquo. Macbeth made these decisions to secure his position as king. After Macbeth completed what he wanted to do, he had a great amount of guilt. Although Macbeth’s life could have been influenced by his fate and the witches prophecies, his life was planned out by his decisions. One way Macbeth’s decisions controlled his life, was when he killed King Duncan. Macbeth made the decision to kill Duncan. In Act 2 Scene 2 line 19, Macbeth says, “I have done the deed/Didst thou not hear a noise?” Macbeth physically did the deed. He, himself, took the dagger into Duncan’s room and stabbed him. This led to Macbeth struggling immensely with guilt. He feared he would never be...

...I’m not afraid of storms, for I’m learning to sail my ship. --Louisa May Alcott This aphorism to me means that one is willing to take risks because even if a person fails she is learning from what she did wrong. Many times in my life I have taken the risk to do an activity and failed but did not give up and learned what I did wrong. In life a person is always experiencing trial and error, one has to fail at least once to learn how to do it the correct way. This aphorism to me also means one is learning how to cope with bad news, and still keep going with their everyday life. In life a person hits many obstacles but it is their own choice if they want the obstacle ruin them or let them learn from it. I choose to have all obstacles in my life let me learn and see the positive in everything. A time in my life when I wasn’t afraid of the storm, for I was learning to sail my ship even if I was in pain and doubted that I would ever get out of the storm, was when I lost my grandpa to cancer. He was my role model, my rock, my go to man when I was upset, the man who could make me smile even when I didn’t want to, and most importantly my best friend. When I lost him I was in seventh grade, I didn’t really know what to think, I couldn’t wrap my mind around what happened. I knew he was sick and he wasn’t doing very well at all, but I did not think it would happen that soon. I was not ready to say goodbye. He was the one that kept me going, he was always smiling even when he was in...

Last Breath of Innocence

...deliberate actions on the part of Othello. Although he is manipulated in the belief that Cassio and his wife are having an affair, it is ultimately his decision to have them both killed for their alleged crimes. Othello is guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt for the first degree murder of his innocent wife Desdemona. While concealed Othello observes Iago elicit a pseudo guilty confession from Cassio, then shortly after, Bianca (Cassio’s actual lover) enters the room and questions Cassio about the strawberry laden handkerchief (the gift from Othello to Desdemona). This evidence convinces Othello of his wife’s adultery. Armed with this skewed evidence Othello becomes enraged and responds to Iago saying, “Aye, Let her rot, and perish, and be damned tonight, for she shall not live...” (4.1.169-70). Othello later adds, “I will chop her into messes…” (4.1.183). He then demands of Iago, “Get me some poison, Iago, this night…” (4.1.187). Othello then agrees with Iago’s interjection: IAGO. Do it not with poison, strangle her in her bed, even the bed she hath contaminated. OTHELLO. Good, good. The justice of it pleases. Very good. (4.1.191-93) These events illustrate the premeditation of Desdemona’s murder because they transpire a full twenty-four hours...

Who Is The Most Sensible Women In Othello

...The play Othello gives the three women some freedom. As Desdemona said “The heavens forbid but that our loves and comforts should increase, even as our days do grow.” (2.1. 196-198). This translates to ‘God willing, our love and our happiness will only increase as we get older.’ It gives the women hope. Even though the women are the most sensible characters in the play, the women are not able to be themselves because each women gets defined by their male partner and each stands for an aspect of womanhood, as defined by society and Desdemona, Emilia, and Bianca are presented according to men’s interpretations. We learn from the beginning that the women are the most sensible characters in the paly. The first girl that comes into play is Desdemona. Desdemona states the line “To put my father in impatient thoughts by being in his eye.” (1.3. 242-243). She is being reasonable toward her father while having a conversation with Duke. Now Cassio is speaking with Desdemona and he is basically being sensible and thoughtful toward her by saying “The riches of the ship is come on shore!” (2.1. 89) He refers to Desdemona as being precious, after thanking Cassio she thinks of her Othello and asks “What tidings can you tell me of my lord?” (2.1. 95). She is being thoughtful for being concerned about her husband....

...the worst news we have ever gotten. At approximately 10 PM, my brother’s phone started ringing and Kim, my step-mother’s name was showing up on the phone. When Danny, my brother answered the phone, Kim told him to give the phone to my mom. A few minutes later, we heard my mother scream into the phone, “What do you mean he’s gone?” We never got the chance to ask her what happened because she ran out the door and drove away. While I was staring out the window, my brother turned to me and said, “I think Daddy went to heaven.” Those are words that I will never forget. I didn’t have an answer for him, but I knew that he was probably right. My mother came back home around midnight that night and called us into the living room. I could tell instantly that she had been crying and I knew that it was going to be serious because I have never seen her cry as much as she had right now. She then says to us, “I didn’t want to come home and tell you guys this, but your dad died tonight.” I was silent until I asked, “How did he die?” My mom said, “He was on his way up to the shop to give something to Chris and a drunk driver pulled out and stopped in the middle of the intersection. He tried to swerve out of the way, but he got...

British Literature

...Nature can be used to express all things to all men. William Blake used the lamb as well as the Tyger to express his views of God, good and evil. He also used it as a way to show his displeasure of the things that were happening in his time. “Little Lamb I’ll tell thee! He is called by thy name, For he calls himself a Lamb; He is meek & he is mild; He became a little child; I a child & thou a lamb, we are called by his name.” (Greenblatt, S., 2012, page 120). This expressed that Jesus was the lamb and that we are also so in his name. He was also expressing the treatment of children during this time. He was using nature as symbols and to show that we are all lambs of God and should be treated well. Wordsworth also spoke of nature he as well as Blake used images and patterns to express their emotions, imagination, and identity. In Lines Written in Early Spring, he speaks of the beauty yet still feels saddened and melancholy. He uses the beauty to express his sadness and the dark thoughts of what is happening in the world. This provides an amazing contrast. “The budding twigs spread out their fan, To catch the breezy air; And I must think, do all I can, That there was pleasure there. If this belief from heaven be sent, If such be Nature’s holy plan, Have I not reason to lament What man has made of man?” (Greenblatt, S., 2012, page 280). And regarding love, Lord Byron uses the night sky to express the beauty of the person he loves. “ She walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless...

The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fist Fight In Heaven Summary

...In the collection of short stories "The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fist fight in Heaven" Sherman Alexie writes about the importance of songs and stories in the lives of the people on the reservation through drug induced visions, the character of Thomas Builds-A-Fire, Jimi Hendrix's music, and basketball players on the reservation. In the short story a drug called tradition the main character, Victor, and his two friends Thomas Builds-a-Fire and Junior take drugs that give them visions of themselves in strange historical Indian settings. The stories they tell of these visions relate to Indian culture and tradition. Junior has a vision of Thomas performing a dance around a campfire that brings back all the dead Indians. Victor has a vision of Junior singing. Both visions include real things from history, end with the idea of the Indians winning and/or driving out the white people, and use music or dance to show this. This shows their...

...FOR BLYTHE Acknowledgments My profound thanks to three dear friends with whom I have the great luxury of working: my editor, Jason Kaufman; my agent, Heide Lange; and my counselor, Michael Rudell. In addition, I would like to express my immense gratitude to Doubleday, to my publishers around the world, and, of course, to my readers. This novel could not have been written without the generous assistance of countless individuals who shared their knowledge and expertise. To all of you, I extend my deep appreciation. To live in the world without becoming aware of the meaning of the world is like wandering about in a great library without touching the books. The Secret Teachings of All Ages ———————————— FACT: In 1991, a document was locked in the safe of the director of the CIA. The document is still there today. Its cryptic text includes references to an ancient portal and an unknown location underground. The document also contains the phrase “It’s buried out there somewhere.” All organizations in this novel exist, including the Freemasons, the Invisible College, the Office of Security, the SMSC, and the Institute of Noetic Sciences. All rituals, science, artwork, and monuments in this novel are real. ———————————— Prologue House of the Temple 8:33 P.M. The secret is how to die. Not even the bride’s mother can tell the difference. The Kumiho is only discovered when her clothes are removed. As the mythology of the Kumiho evolved it was later believed that a Kumiho had to consume human hearts in order to survive. Another version of the mythology, however, holds that with enough will a Kumiho could further ascend from its Yokwe state and become fully, permanently human and lose its evil character.  The Foolish Old Man Removes the Mountains – China Once upon a time, there were two high mountains between a place called Jizhou in the south and the Huang River in the north.
