Heddy Lamaar's Frequency Hopper Hedy Lamaar invented the frequency hopper, which was used on ships, because it could hop from frequency to frequency. Now the Frequency Hopper can be used for wifi, and gps! It's crazy how a device can have a huge part in our lives today.

Heddy Lamaar really made a huge change in the world! Her Frequency Hopper, is now used as wifi. In school, for my education I use wifi, for my iPad. Basically, Heddy's invention turned into something used for education for us. Wifi, gives me internet access, so I'm able to have an easy source for finding answers to some of a lot of my questions. Now, we have a little something that came out of the frequency hopper, called GPS! GPS stands for "Global Positioning System". GPS is an extremely easy way to show where you are! All I have to do is type in the address of where I want to go, and it shows which ways to turn, and where you are, and it even speaks to you! The GPS tells you how many miles, and how much time it'll take to get there. This invention is amazing! Now, I can't even imagine what my life would be without a GPS, because first of all, I don't even know how to eat a map!

Every single day of my life, I use my phone, whether it's for calling, or especially texting! With communication, I need wifi for all this, and it's crazy how the frequency hopper changed to this. If for any reason I'm in school, and I can't call my parents, because of that reason, I just send them a quick text message with whatever it is, and it only takes a few seconds to go through! Than, there's been calling for a while, but in my generation, I just pick up my iPhone, and call anyone I need to. It's amazing how much I use wifi now that I think about
