I don't know if I read the book cover quickly or didn't understand the selection really or getting dumped is just really in our blood. But as far as I can see, all of uncles, cousins and even my father has become the Hercules of every lady's heart and the way i figured it, I can never follow their footsteps. But everything changed when I met the acquaintance of Audrey Griffith, a classmate of mine in a military school, mystery, yes it is, that of all the high schools, I got involve with those gun...

Dont Worry I'Ll Be There

...day Chapter 1: Can I Be of Help? The cold breeze can be felt almost instantly in this blur night, Rachel sign and her breath can be visibly seen, and she shivers and hugs herself. She looks up at the 70 feet building. It all started when they all agreed to spend their vacation in Las Vegas, the place for relaxation, Entertainment and Gambling, and all of it happened when they luckily won 10 tickets at some lottery. It was just by luck that Puck clumsily tripped and disturbed, its’ momentum and got the jackpot, Kurt and Rachel squeal with all their might leaving everyone around them deaf. Each one of them went and packed their things and saying their goodbyes to their parents and went off. The ride to the airport was Hell, Santana always wanted to stop at every store they come into, Brittany occasionally wants to go at detours, Sam won’t stop talking about X-Men and the Avengers ,Finn is snoring really loudly and Jesse was disturbingly looking at the mirror, like his worshiping his face and was like trying to propose to himself the only normal there was Rachel, sitting quietly with Ear buds in her ear, Blaine and Kurt talking to each other, Tina doing something on her computer and lastly Puck who was trying to ignore his Friends weird antics, when they arrive at the airport Santana was first to go outside and Brittany followed close by. They were relief to still be alive after that torturous ride. They were all already in the plane when Sam spontaneously...

A Knack for Excellency

...A Knack for Excellence Is striving to graduate with Honors really worth the struggle? You might be wondering, is he really taking it there? Well, Yes I am. What if you gave and dedicated your life and soul, solely on achieving this honor and still don’t make it? Yes, I’m sure it looks great on a resume and one may feel like they have accomplished life’s greatest feat, especially when graduating from a Harvard, Yale, Princeton or any other highly-notable University with such prestigious of a honor; but neither life nor success in life is solely characterized by acquiring A’s in school. So is it really worth it, and what does it truly mean to graduate with honors? As the film “With Honors” depicted, for Harvard it meant everything, but he realized the bigger picture in the end. I believe graduating with ‘Honors’ should be considered more than a goal. It should be considered a way of life, a lifestyle so to say. In the film, “With Honors”, ‘Harvard’ was at the mercy of Simon, the ‘Harvard Bum’ who found his thesis paper. Even though Harvard failed to graduate with honors from Harvard, he essentially did one thing right when he chose to chase a dream of graduating with Honors. He set his goals high! He set his eyes on the prize and began a figuratively climb upward the likes of a Mt. Everest; with Mt. Everest being his graduation from Harvard with quote, unquote, honors. Simon taught them that just graduating with a flimsy piece of paper can only get them so far, that...

...The Power of COMMUNICATION Talk: Who Gets Heard and Why The Power of Talk: Who Gets Heard and Why by Deborah Tannen FROM THE SEPTEMBER–OCTOBER 1995 ISSUE T he head of a large division of a multinational corporation was running a meeting devoted to performance assessment. Each senior manager stood up, reviewed the individuals in his group, and evaluated them for promotion. Although there were women in every group, not one of them made the cut. One after another, each manager declared, in effect, that every woman in his group didn’t have the self-confidence needed to be promoted. The division head began to doubt his ears. How could it be that all the talented women in the division suffered from a lack of self-confidence? In all likelihood, they didn’t. Consider the many women who have left large corporations to start their own businesses, obviously exhibiting enough confidence to succeed on their own. Judgments about confidence can be inferred only from the way people present themselves, and much of that presentation is in the form of talk. The CEO of a major corporation told me that he often has to make decisions in five minutes about matters on which others may have worked five months. He said he uses this rule: If the person making the proposal seems confident, the CEO approves it. If not, he says no. This might seem like a reasonable approach. But my field of research, socio-linguistics, suggests otherwise. The CEO obviously thinks he knows what a confident person sounds...

...300 SECRETS 1. A life is a terrible thing to waste. So easy to beat yourself up over mistakes you've made. So many amongst us live in the past rather than loving the present and building a brilliant future. First of all, no one tries to fail or mess things up. Every one of us wakes up in the morning, walks out into the world and does the best we can do based on what we know and the skills we have. But even more importantly, every so-called "mistake' is actually a rich source of learning. An opportunity to build more awareness and understanding and gain precious experience. Just maybe what we could call failures are actually growth lessons in wolf's clothing. And just maybe the person who experiences the most, wins. 2. A world-class company puts systems in place to ensure consistency of results. If you want to get something done and if you want to see consistent results, build a system around it. Celebrate the previous days wins and then rededicate to work for the mission. Systems‛ thinking builds structures into your life so that your best practices actually get integrated into your life. Systems allow you to live in a proactive rather than in a reactive way. And having a bunch of systems in place to keep you at your best doesn't mean that your life will be overly structured and full of stress Because nothing deprives a human being of happiness as much as seeing a life being wasted. 3. After almost thirty minutes of walking, following signs directions, I felt that something was wrong. I was tired and wondering how much longer I had to walk, so with my Basic English knowledge I asked to an officer to help me find the baggage claim number, showing him my airplane ticket. He looked at me and smiling he said: “You would get to this baggage claim number tomorrow if you keep walking, young lady”. I didn’t understand very well if he was joking, so I asked again if he could help me. He kept smiling and said: “Seems like it is your first time flying isn’t it?” which I responded whit an ashamed “yes it is”. Luckily very kindly he explained that JFK was a very big airport and trains needed to be taken in order to get the right baggage claim number. Classification Essay

...Morgan Johnson 1/11/16 Block 4 Green Classification Essay The Category Game As a miserable employee of the Panera Bread Restaurant/Café/Bakery, I confess that I have spent the most of my shifts during the past 2 years categorizing any and all customers I come in contact with. This childish game I play in my own head, and sometimes with my co-workers, can last anywhere from 4 to 10 hours. Every person that walks through Panera’s streaky glass doors on a mission to feed themselves the most overpriced and overhyped food, fall victim to this game. Nine times out of ten I am the first employee an incoming customer sees. Nine times out of ten I am the first employee to observe a customer’s behavior, prepare myself to act as fake as the ingredients in processed foods, and provide the customer service that I am required to do as specified in my job description. There are several factors that play into where a customer lies on the “enjoyable” to “ready to march my-underpaid-self straight out the front doors” scale, and I within a 60 second interaction with a person, I can put them exactly where they belong. Like most food based businesses, we have our regular customers that come in anywhere from 1 to 15 times per week to get their favorite drink, snack, meal, or bakery item. I can proudly say I adore approximately 80% of them. I have multiple “family members” that aren’t necessarily blood related to me. This 80% of the regular customer population fall under the enjoyable, crazy...

It Doesn't Matter

...article that was published in 2003 raises just as many questions as it does answers to this very question as well as it has stirred up quite a bit of controversy over since its publication. What Carr is saying unlike the title of the paper he does not say there is no need for IT. The idea was to draw up controversy. Carr’s argument is to have a strategic advantage within IT. Something no one else has is extremely important. IT has become a huge cost for many organizations but other things have gone down in cost. Our Infrastructural technology of today in terms of transportation of goods it helps deflate prices. It is essential for competition to have IT but inconsequential for strategy for many organizations. What Carr is saying essentially is yes IT is an important to tool to help organizations achieve their goals daily however it is not the core of the business. The core is the strategy that each company possesses that makes it stand out from the rest and ultimately make that organization successful. The title of the original HBR article was misleading. Mr. Carr is not arguing that information technology doesn’t matter. Of course it does. Among other things, IT improves productivity by reducing communications, search, and trans- action costs, and by automating all sorts of tasks previously done by humans. But Mr. Carr asserts that as IT matures, spreads, and becomes more standardized, the strategic advantage any individual firm can gain from technology diminishes. You can have the...

Henri Boulangerie

...Henri Boulangerie: Creating and Using a Master Budget BACKGROUND PART I: CREATING THE BUDGET MEETINGS WITH DIVISIONAL MANAGERS Henri Boulangerie is a medium-sized regional bakery that specializes in providing orders to grocery and convenience stores. Because of the popularity of its brand, it has also opened a small café for walk-in business. In order to maintain its high quality standard, Henri produces only three products: breakfast muffins, fresh bread, and chocolate chip cookies. Although business has been good in the past few years, a lucky contact with a large chain has recently allowed it to expand its brand out of the local region. Growth has been high since the new contract went into effect. Andy Griff, the chief executive officer (CEO) and founder, has arranged a meeting with a venture capital firm next week. Hopefully the meeting will result in the sale of some of Henri’s stock and an opportunity to establish a significant line of credit with the venture capital firm. These extra funds, if Andy can secure them, should provide sufficient money to meet Henri’s growth targets for the next few years. The venture capital firm’s assessment team has asked Andy to provide a quarterly master budget for the year that just began, complete with pro forma financial statements, at the meeting. They have expressed special interest in Henri’s earnings per share (EPS), cash flow from operations, and profit margins, indicating that good numbers in these...

Eternal Punishment

...Eternal Punishment As a child growing up all I heard was you either do good and go to heaven or you do wrong and go to hell. That’s the Christian way of thinking and that’s the way it is. While I grew stronger in the religion and began to be able to see the bigger picture, I then was in turn able to make a decision for myself what was the right thing. Through reading the Bible, going to church, and listening to elders, deacons, and pastors I determined that this was indeed the Christian view of eternal state that I believed in. There were however a few blanks that had to be filled in, like; 1) Where do we go when we die? 2) What is Heaven? 3) What is Hell? and 4) What is the rapture? These are all questions that many have asked and many have to have the answer to in order to make an educated decision about what religion to follow and what end of time theory to believe in. The Bible states in 2 Corinthians 5:10, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” In the end, there will be an eternal punishment and only you can determine what your fate will be. In order to stand behind the Christian view of the end of times you must first prove there is a heaven and hell. Let’s start by talking about heaven. Webster’s dictionary defines heaven as, “1.a place regarded in various religions as the abode of God (or the gods) and the angels, and of...

The Hell Debate

...THE HELL DEBATE A Paper Presented to Professor Beauchamp of Liberty University Lynchburg, VA BIBL 350 By Gordon C. Wilson December 13, 2012 INTRODUCTION In this paper, I will give a brief overview of the nature of hell, the classical view and the annihilationist view. For the last decade, there has been a significant debate surrounding this very topic within evangelical circle. It is hard to understand how God can let his children be punished in hell, being he is an all-loving God and creator. However, John 3:36 makes it clear for all of us. (He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life; and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him)(Dake, Finis).” The Bible teaches that God loves you so much that the Creator of this universe (Jesus Christ) came to "taste death" for every man. Jesus wasn't just some baby for a manger scene. He is God come in the flesh to destroy the power of death and hell--He holds the keys, people! If you say yes to Jesus, hell won't be your final destination. If you say no to Jesus, the lake of fire will be your eternal home. There is no getting out and no comfort--it's everlasting. Regardless of whether you believe it or not, hell exists and the Bible says that it is never full. I've heard folks say that hell is not mentioned in the Bible or that hell is just the grave. Well, let's take a look at what the Authorized King James Bible says. Here are a few scriptures that deal with hell...
