Why Is Water Important To Me

...July and the beginning of August my grandparents were out of town so they put me in charge of their dog Jake. Their dog Jake is highly neurotic and even though he isn’t a person he is heavily medicated and that doesn’t mean just a few pills it means about seven or eight different pills that he has to take. Jake has a pill box, it is a box for old people because they can’t remember to show if they have taken their medication or not, and this is for a dog not a person. The worst part about it is that they had a dog that was eighteen years old and she didn’t need medicine, but the five year old dog does. Also on the door to go out of the kitchen there is step by step instructions on how to take care of the dog and make sure he isn’t ‘depressed’. In the morning I have to give him the pills and not just handing it to him in your hand I had to hide it in mayonnaise and what I thought was roast beef, but I might not have been. I had to make sure to put it on the center island which at my grandparents house is this about five foot tall wooden cart. When I put the clump of roast beef on the island it makes this wet slapping sound because it came from the fridge cold and nasty. The whole point in putting the pills in the roast beef is because dog aren’t supposed to have medication because it’s a dog....

Expect the Unexpected

...Expect the Unexpected Towards the end of my junior year in high school an unexpected event occurred that changed my life. During my P.E. class I was participating in a basketball related activity that led to me getting injured. When I first realized that I was injured my first reaction was to fall to the ground and hold on to the part of my body that was hurting. After doing so, I tried to stand up and walk but I couldn’t because I began to feel excruciating pains in my left ankle. When my friends and teacher saw me struggling to walk, they all came to help me and my teacher gave me a chair to sit in. When I sat down in the chair, my teacher began to examine my ankle. He told me to turn my ankle from left to right while asking me if doing any of these motions was painful. When he finished examining my ankle he went over to the main office to tell one of the secretaries to call my father. Finally my father arrived at my school and instead of taking me straight to the hospital he began to ask me multiple questions about how I got injured which made me really angry. Eventually, he realized I was upset me so he took me to the hospital. When we arrived at the hospital the woman at the front desk checked me in, gave me a wheelchair, and then told us that we had to sit in the waiting room until it was time for the doctor to examine me. When the doctor was ready to see me, my father pushed me into the examination room and the doctor began to ask me questions about my ankle. After...

Descriptive Essay

...Descriptive Essay By Moon 11-10-2012 My Dog Named Beau Lying on my living room floor is a curled up fuzzy-ball dog named Beau. When I was a kid, my mother had a dog and he lived in a cage all his life. I had always wanted a dog as a child, and now I have found a perfect dog. He is adorable, smart, loving and his has an up lifting personality. He will never live in a cage. Beau was born in Venango, NE. He is from the Cairn Breed. His father was Sebastian, who was more handsome than King Charles, and his mom’s name was Amanda. Beau is very handsome. He has soft curly hair and a stocky body shape. He has white, light and French vanilla ice creme colored hair. He has beautiful glass brown marble eyes, a big round black clown nose, and cute little mouse-like triangular ears. He also has a cute round-shaped face. When he was 2 months old, he was so tiny and adorable, the size of a fava bean. I held him in my palm; his fur was silky and smooth, especially when he fell asleep on my lap. I often walked him outside of my apartment, and he had a curious approach to everything, smells, sounds or sights. As a puppy, he loved to play with my flip flop, even though the flip flop was bigger than he. He found a way to lift his face up so he could drag the sandal without tripping over it. When I spoke to him, his little triangle ears flipped upward and his head tilted to the side; he looked at me with a response like he knew what I was saying to him. As Beau...

Both the man and his dog take part of many activities with each other: playing catch, sleeping and cuddling up with one another, going on casual drives, going to the lake for a swim, and lastly warming up by a fire pit. The love with the man and his dog deeply increases. One day the man decided to hang out with some friend and go out for some drinks leaving his dog alone inside the empty house. The dog waits and waits and continues to wait by the entrance door weeping for his owner to return home. Finally when the owner returns home the next day the dog began to lick his owner and jumping on him expressing happiness and excitement. Volunteering

...animal shelters for the Hinesville area, recorded receiving approximately 30 dogs and cats each day, and 10,000 animals each year. More than four of these animals are euthanized daily, simply because the facility does not have adequate accommodations for the growing population of strays. But Liberty Humane Shelter has committed to making a change for the better to these statistics. Since 2012, the shelter has adopted out 218 cats and 325 dogs. As a “no kill” shelter which takes in animals from multiple rescues, the public, as well as the local humane society, Liberty Humane Shelter understands that animals do not deserve to die simply because they have no home. Equipped with two caged cat rooms for kittens, grown cats and one non caged room for recreation, five spacious dog rooms, and a well equipped clinic, LHS can provide a true haven to animals, both short term and long term. Every animal that is taken in is given the best medical attention available, and automatically spayed or neutered. Each animal also receives a full round of vaccinations and is implanted with a microchip. Unlike many over-populated shelters anxious to place their animals in any home, LHS carefully screens potential adopters. Adoptees are judged on their care of previous pets, the amount of time they can dedicate to a new pet, and whether the size of their house is appropriate to the needs of the pet. With the adoption of a dog, the new owners receive a full medical...

Attached To The Dog In Brown Wolf By Jack London

...In the story, "Brown Wolf" by Jack London, you can tell that the characters, Walt and Madge had become attached to the dog. Based off of Walt saying, "I said the dog doesn't go, and that settles it. I don't believe he's your dog. You may have seen him sometime. You may even sometime have driven him for his owner. But his obeying the ordinary driving commands of the Alaskan trail is no demonstration that he is yours. Any dog in Alaska would obey you as he obeyed", I can conclude that they did not want to believe Mr. Miller at first because they did not want the dog to leave them. As the story progresses, Madge & Walt start to think that Mr. Miller was right about the dog belonging to him based off of how the dog interacted with Mr. Miller. One...

Relationship Essay Greg and Rita

...husband made sure my boys had a dog to grow up with, Foxy, who was never allowed in the house. According to Greg, dogs were meant to be outdoors. Greg thought having a dog would teach our boys responsibility. That being said, he was the one that would have to get out and clean up after her, take her out to the dog park to run and was constantly making sure she was feed and watered properly. When Foxy died, he said”no more dogs!” Well, one day a friend of mine, who had a cute little Chihuahua, was given another. They decided that their little dog Ruby did not want a companion, and asked me if I would like the most adorable short haired doe eyed, caramel colored, two pound female Chihuahua. I was absolutely thrilled! Just the thought of this precious sweet little girl coming to live with us gave me such joy! Think about this now, I live in a house full of men. You bet I jumped at the chance to have a charming little dog to dress up and be able to buy cute little dog dresses for. Yes, I could be one of those fancy little ladies that carry their dog around in a purse! When Greg came home and found me with my new found love, he said, “You need to march back over there and give that dog back. We don’t need anything that we have to take care of; you got enough to do now without having to worry about a dog!” He was not as thrilled at all. I told him he didn’t have to worry about a thing that she was going to be my dog. He firmly stated his dislike about me keeping her with...

House of 1000 Mirrors

...House of 1000 Mirrors Long ago in a small, far away village, there was place known as the House of 1000 Mirrors. A small, happy little dog came to know of this place and decided to visit. When he arrived, he bounced happily up the stairs to the doorway of the house. He looked through the doorway with his ears lifted high and his tail wagging as fast as it could. To his great surprise, he found himself staring at 1000 other happy little dogs with their tails wagging just as fast as his. He smiled a great smile, and was answered with 1000 great smiles just as warm and friendly. As he left the House, he thought to himself, "This is a wonderful place. I will come back and visit it often." In this same village, another little dog, who was not quite as happy as the first one, decided to visit the house. He slowly climbed the stairs and hung his head low as he looked into the door. When he saw the 1000 unfriendly looking dogs staring back at him, he growled at them and was horrified to see 1000 little dogs growling back at him. As he left, he thought to himself, "That is a horrible place, and I will never go back there again." All the faces in the world are mirrors. Just observe what kind of reflections do you see in the faces of the people you meet. Life is actually a reflection of our thoughts and...

Lost and Found

...it could be for anyone. I was just thinking about my dog that I have lost; it hurt so bad I felt like I would never recover. You may feel empty and so depleted of emotion but then something comes into your life that makes you light up. It happened to me and I hope it happens for everyone else who has faced a loss of some kind. About six years ago I had a beautiful dog named Bear; he was very furry and had the cutest squirrel like tail. I loved him tremendously; he was my playmate, and my best friend. Unfortunately Bear was an older dog and passed away over night which still shocked my whole family because he played like a puppy the night before I went to sleep. I was so devastated and could not stop crying, I told my mom through streaming tears that I never want another dog again. I was so distraught that I actually thought I would never again be able to love another dog. After a few months of grieving the loss of my wonderful dog Bear, I asked my mom if we could get another. I was shocked I felt this way but was pretty sure I needed to have another dog in my life and thankfully she agreed. I wanted to get a dog from a shelter, to save them from being euthanized and everyone in my family agreed. My mom and dad asked me and my sister if we were sure this is what we wanted and we said yes and that weekend we went to a shelter. We seen all kinds of dogs, all too cute for words but no puppies, then we seen a dog...
