Abstract #1

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is continuing to pursue his acting career and is starring in, as well as producing the new film “Freelancers”, which was written by L. Philippe Casseus. Jackson will be playing the son of a deceiving NYPD officer who becomes affiliated with the corrupted force that his father helped build. “Freelancers” begins filming on March 28 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Jackson has also been acknowledged for his prior films “Righteous Kill” and “Get Rich or Die Tryin’.”

In my opinion, “Freelancers” will just be another poor written script and will probably serve as another embarrassment for 50 Cent. “Freelancers” sounds like another one of 50 cents’ stereotypical films that contains an extraordinary amount of violence, along with an excess of unnecessary profanity. For example, 50 Cent’s previous movie “Get Rich or Die Tryin’ is an autobiographical film of his own life. The film portrays 50 Cent’s disturbing life that consists of drugs, sex, violence, robbery, and most importantly, rap music. I believe that since 50 Cent wants to be represented as a convict, he should have no business in trying to continue his success as an actor or producer. If 50 Cent was such a great actor and producer, I’m sure he would of had many films out by now, but it seems to me that he is just in need of something that can boost his declining career. Additionally, 50 Cent should be ashamed of his lyrics in his rap songs. Therefore, why would anyone want to hire 50 cent. I do not see 50 cent as a producer or an actor and should stick to rap music, if even that.

I believe “Freelancers” is going to be too explicit, however I’m sure there will be some people who will thoroughly enjoy this film. Nevertheless, I do not think of a masterpiece when I envision 50 Cent as a star role.

...through her mother Pebe, a songwriter. Her mother's biggest songwriting success was "Old Flames Can't Hold a Candle to You," which was a hit for Joe Sun and Dolly Parton. The first few years of Kesha's life were a struggle for her family. Her mother had difficulty earning enough to support Kesha and her older brother. "We were on welfare and food stamps," the artist explained on her website. "One of my first memories is my mom telling me, 'If you want something, just take it.'" When she was 4, Kesha moved to Nashville with her family, where her mother had landed a songwriting contract. Sometimes tagging along with her mother, Kesha spent a lot of time in recording studios during her early adolescence. Her mother encouraged her interest in singing, allowing Kesha to work on some of her song demos. Kesha also went to a music school, where she learned about songwriting. Deep in the heart of the country music scene, she was inspired by the likes of Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline. Pursuing a Career in Music At 17, Kesha left high school to pursue a music career. She changed her name to Ke$ha and moved to Los Angeles to work with producer Dr. Luke, who had worked on hit singles for Katy Perry and Kelly Clarkson among others. I chose this topic because I wanted to see how much the pree and media have acces to the celrites. I want to fight for the celberite cause I deserve they need more privercy. My topic is the limitations that should be applied to the paparazzi. I wanted to see how much the press and media have access to the celebrities. Celebrities are just people like us, and they need their privacy. Sometimes you’ll see some really personal in magazines that you will say to yourself “how do they know that?”. I chose this because i want to see the paparazzi can push a celebrity and how much they can learn from the scandals and the relationship problems. I limited my research to just what the paparazzi should be limited on and why. I’ll get most of my research from interviews, magazines, and some websites. I’ll try to interview some people from the press and ask them questions like “ how much of these peoples lives do you know about “and “ do you think there should be some limits on how much you can know about these people”. I’ll see if i can get some interviews of people who have already interviewed drama filled celebrities like Brittany Spears and "the always in the fighting mood" Chris Brown. I want to find out how far the paparazzi is limited, if any at all, and see why they should be limited. ...

...Cornell, that's pretty nice.” She replied smirking “Haha yeah. It's almost like a tradition in my family to go there. How about you?” “I went to New York University and studied law. It's actually a tradition in my family to go to Cornell too. I grew up in a foster home most of my life and didn’t learn about the tradition until recently when I was digging into my birthparents past and stuff.” Kamberly replied. “I grew up in a foster home too. Maybe that's where we have seen each other. Where did you grow up?” he asked “I’ve grown up here, in New York for my whole life. Never lived anywhere else. How about you?” “Oh, that can’t be it then. I grew up in Washington most of my life.” he replied “Weird question, but what’s your last name?” she asked. She had a feeling that she needed to ask that question. She didn’t know why it just kept nagging at her mind. “Arrowmen.” She felt her jaw drop and her eyes widen. She couldn’t believe it. The hair, the eyes, the smile. It all seemed too familiar. She had known there was a possibility that she had siblings, but she never put much thought into it. “That my last name.” she replied quietly. His eyes started watering. He couldn’t meet her...

...rhythmic breathing of my two little sisters. In the dark this familiar sound is like a lamp almost, providing me with just enough hope to be able to feel my way around. My name is Taya and I am 19 years old and after months of consideration, of both the negative and positive aspects of what it would and could mean to be caught with a journal that documents what it is that we all face every day, I’ve decided that I must. I know, from stories that can only be verbally passed down while no on e is sure to be listening, what a paper and pen once was. I know that there were machines once that a person could use to write things down, but now all of those are unavailable to me. The tools I use for this undertaking may seem primitive to some, although our society is anything but. It’s just that no longer are all the available extras that I’ve heard once existed still available. For now, I’m laying on my back underneath our kitchen table, a pile of mostly burnt wood to my right side, scraping and scratching these feelings onto the underside of the place where, when we all can, sit down as a family and eat. Another thing that is rarely available. If I close my eyes I’m comforted by the scents that I could recognize anywhere. The fire that we are currently lucky to have warming us during this winter night, the skin ointment one of my friends grandmothers refers to as loshing, that she has suggested I illegally purchase for years now, that, as instructed I rub onto my sisters chest before...

Exactly like the month of the year.” “I thought that was a woman's name.” By now, I'd had enough and I snapped, “Are you going to give me your number or not?” “You don't have to be so snappy. I only asked you a simple question.” I took a deep breath, recollected my thoughts and then apologized. “Look, I'm sorry. Are you going to hook me up with your digits or not? The club is about to close.” “Since you asked nicely, this time, I guess so. But I need to ask you another question first.” “What's that?” “You're not a woman, are you? You know the ones that dress like men?” “Hell no! I'm a man.”...

...my school life. When I first came to SAS, the only English phrase that I can say was “I don’t know”. While it was my first day to school, it was the first day back to school from the winter break for everyone else. Everyone knew each other, knew their ways around the school and knew each other’s names very well. I felt like an absolute outcast, facing a high brick wall that separated myself from the rest of the class. Compared to other students, the wall was higher and seemed more impossible to overcome to me since I was unable to communicate. Unlike how I was back in Korea, I changed into a reserved child, unwilling to express my thoughts and opinions. To a 6 year old girl, this sudden change in environment was a bit too much to handle; however, even though I was young, I realized that my life would never go back to how it was in the past, and that I will have to find a way to conform to the norm of the situation I am set in. As time passed by, I got used to the SAS community and managed to adapt to the three cultural influences that I was receiving: American in school, Chinese out of school, Korean at home. Little by little, I opened myself to the people around me. Noticing the change in my attitude, my classmates approached me and asked for my name. Like a robot, I would reply, “My name is Jung Hyun Yoon.” No matter how many times I would say it, they asked again the very next day or say it with a weird pronunciation. I absolutely could not understand why in the world they...

Critical Paper

...Critical paper for My Name is Khan My Name is Khan is a 2010 Indian drama film directed by Karan Johar, written by Shibani Bathija and starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the lead roles. It is a movie which shows a great discrimination towards a particular group of culture. The dark side of identity is also pointed out in the movie. Indeed, this movie indicates of how the people claim of being superior to any other culture. First thing first, I am greatly touched by the character of the main star named Rizwan (Shah Rukh Khan) I feel his emotions and I am surprise towards his abilities like repairing mechanical things though he has a syndrome. Second, is Mandira who is strong enough and I appreciate her for marrying someone who has a syndrome. Thirdly, is his brother who look for Rizwan to U.S, although, they don’t have good relation when they are young. I feel the characters as real, complex and fleshed out. Actually in this movie many characters have showed dedication and as a whole they correspond to the entire movie. The entire story has its twist and conflicts but the characters overcome from this until the end. Rizwan Khan is a Muslim from India who has Asperger syndrome. He is frightened by the color yellow and sharp sounds or noise. His brother, Zakir, get Rizwan to live in United States after their mother passed away. All is well, until Rizwan meet her special someone Mandira. Mandira is a Hindu woman who works as hairdresser. She is a single mother with a young...

Names and Their Impact to the Society

...ESSAY NAMES AND THEIR IMPACT TO THE SOCIETY How my two names came to be are solely my parents’ property rights, for if I only had spoken just a minute after birth, or if children be allowed to choose names by themselves, then I would have chosen a strange name like no other. It is because there are impacts of names to society which seem to be irreversible and critical. According to my father, “Errol” was derived from Errol Flynn, an Australian-born American Actor during the 1930’s, who was known for his handsome, romantic swashbuckling roles in Hollywood films like Captain Blood (1935), The Charge of the Light Brigade (1936), The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938), The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex (1939), and The Sea Hawk (1940) and for playing American Heroes such as Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer in They Died with Their Boots On (1942). He was also known for his playboy lifestyle which ruined his career. The second name “Wynstan” was my father’s discretion. He read Barbara Cartland’s “No Time For Love,” where Wynstan played the good-looking and well-mannered guy who took courage to find and woo Larina Milton, the girlfriend of his elder brother who died of cancer. My first names are a destined identity. I shall carry that name in all transactions, wherever I go, whatever I do, for better such as Doctor Errol, Professor Errol, Attorney Errol or for worst, WANTED: ERROL with one million cash above my head for being a serial killer, or even in my epitaph...
