The Applications Essay

...Application essay My love for music began when I was around 14 years old, an age when i’m not yet understand every aspects of music like pitch, tone, rhythm, notation, but only the music itself. I was compelled by how music affects our heart and soul, how it can expess feelings words normally can’t. But mostly I’m interested in how to create such music that can moved people just by listening to. My passion in music grows ever stronger. But as much as I love it, pursuing music is not something that can be easily done. It’s a long and rocky road from listening to others’s music to producing our own. So many people have failed before. However, after doing much research about colleges that have a music composition program. I believe that the Contemporary Writing and Production Program in Berklee College of Music is the ideal starting place for me to chase after my music career. Music played a major part in my youth. My father used to play his piano smoothly every night before bed, and I would sit next to him, listening quietly. Every time I listened to his music, i always have such beautiful dreams at night. It really fascinating me how simple melody can deal major impact to our mind. Inspired by my father, i led a small music band later on in high school. We practiced day after day, learned many new techniques from each other. Our small performances at the tea houses, sidewalk, local park, even school concert, give us a lot of fun time and invaluable experiences. We once won...

...Fairmont State offers an excellent architecture program that I plan to attend. I will receive the highest degree possible in this field. Fairmont State also offers many clubs and sports to meet the interests of the students attending. Because I live in the state of West Virginia, Fairmont State offers a decent price in tuition and costs. As a junior in high school, I have been giving much thought to the job I wish to pursue. ...You would think that with the title of a degree would come with massive amounts of knowledge in a certain subject. But in reality college isn’t always the best way to show your strengths. Some of the most intellectual people you will meet will neither be a college graduate with a fancy job and lots of money, or a person who works at the local grocery store who has the memory of your home computer someone who can remember anything you tell them. People like that are just waiting for their time to show their skills. Someone who knows firsthand on the subject of blue class workers is Mike Rose who wrote the essay “Blue Collar Brilliance” where Rose challenges the view that intelligence can be measured by the amount of schooling a person has completed. He suggests that blue-collar and service jobs require more intelligence than meets the eye. He describes his experiences growing up; observing his mother as a waitress in coffee shops and family restaurants, Rose also talks about the language that the employees had. Rose states “Lingo conferred authority and singled know-how.”(244) He depicts his mother as a dynamic women who lived her job and put her heart and soul into being a waitress. He described the way she became a pro at deciphering the emotional needs of her customers and colleagues alike. He also details his uncle’s work at the General Motors factory and shows the amount of intelligence that was required of him as he rose from being in the production line to supervising...

Teaching Philosophy

...educators but give the audience, parents, and principals a good reason to support our vocation. There are a great number of people that graduated from high school, some are still college students that would keep following the path they started years ago in high school when they were playing on a concert band, orchestra or marching band, singing on a choir and become great and successful musicians if at least they had a teacher who could inspire them, someone who could guide them to find the freedom of expressing themselves and play music the way they feel and see it. As a future teacher, I am already concern on how and what I will give my student as tools. So, it is my responsibility to start thinking and planning of a good strategy first to get my students’ attention, motivate them and show them good ways to develop their music skills according to their inspiration. In life, there are different types of people when it comes to desire and what they want to do. Some people just try and if anything works, they just let go. Some people in the other hand, push really far until they can satisfy their desires. This is what we often call Persistence. From my experience on the music field, persistence is what brings me at this level because I didn’t have the chance to experience any music at all in elementary, middle or high school. It was always a dream for me to play an instrument, to be part of an orchestra, to sing in a choir or to share an environment with people who like music...

"The effort was about learning as much as we can," Bazant says. "Working with a younger target that doesn't necessarily consider our brand, [the campaign] certainly drives up our name with this audience." "Engagement" is the operative word on virtual sites where brands can splash their name around the environment by opening boutiques in virtual malls or sponsoring lounges where users can congregate. To build up its back-to-school campaign, Sears did just that on the teen and tween sister sites Zwinky and Meez. In its Arrive Lounge on Zwinky, a Sears-created video featuring High School Musical 3 star Vanessa Hudgens played in the background. ...Do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. Essay 1 – High Score – Band 8-9 In today's modern world, computers are an essential part of everyday life. Around the globe, children often use computers from a very young age. Although it is important for children to participate in various well-balanced activities, in my opinion, children who use the computer daily are actually developing a critical skill for future success. The bases for my views are personal, academic, and professional. From a personal point of view, computers are an invaluable resource to help young people explore the world around them. For example, children who use Internet to satisfy their curiosity about diverse topics are already becoming independent learners. No child with a computer is ever bored! By starting early in their lives, children feel totally at ease around computers; they are also able to take advantage of the wide range of services computers provide. From an academic viewpoint, children have no choice but to master this technological invention. For instance, when I was in university, students brought their laptops to class to take notes, do research and exchange information. They wrote assignments, created presentations and developed databases. Children who build early confidence and experience in these abilities are at a distinct advantage over those who have not. From a professional perspective, the computer...
