Which brand of corned beef spoiled faster? Star or Argentina?

We would like to thank our Chemistry teacher, Ms. Ro-Anne Nuguit, for helping us choose a simpler topic.

Abstract Our investigatory project focuses on which brand of corned beef would last longer. We had 2 different brands of a 150g of corned beef and a plastic container for each. The researcher washed both of the corned beef (by using the strainer) before placing it inside the container and sealed it with its lid. We’ve kept the variable in its container for two days. Within the span of two days, the Argentina corned beef spoiled first. Then on the second day, the Star corned beef has only started to spoil. And that’s where the researchers came up with the conclusion that the Argentina corned beef had less preservatives, causing it to spoil earlier.

Introduction
We people nowadays have canned foods for us to have food that doesn’t spoil easily. But not all of those canned foods can really last long. This statement will be proven in this investigatory project.

I. Statement of the Problem:
Which brand of corned beef spoiled faster? Argentina corned beef or Star corned beef?

II. Hypothesis
Argentina corned beef. (<-------WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THESE WORDS?) . Because Star corned beef has more contents of preservatives which mean more preservatives, the longer the product will last. (Please fix this hypothesis)

III. Objective
To know which brand of corned beef will last longer and would fit in places that have less amount of food supply.

IV. Significance of the study
We made this research in order to help people in picking the right brand of corned beef that would last long and thus, helping them save money because the food will not easily spoil.

V. Scope and Limitation
The scope of this research is that argentina has less preservatives because is spoiled easily and the limitations is that argentina is healthier than star because of lesser preservatives.

Review of Related Literature
It depends on the food. There are some foods that can last for a long time without refrigeration. Other foods can't last for more than a couple hours.
For example, uncooked, dried beans or pasta will keep a year or more unrefrigerated. Foods that are normally refrigerated should never be allowed to sit at room temperature more than 2 hours. Moist foods, especially those with protein, provide a breeding ground for food-borne illness that can even be fatal. The general rule is that these foods should be kept below 40 degrees (in the refrigerator) or above 140 degrees (hot). If it's a food that you would normally refrigerate, please don't eat it if it's been at room temp more than 2 hours, maximum. (Just a reminder -- food can contain staph or other nasty bacteria even if it looks and smells fine.)
How soon food will spoil without refrigeration will depend on a variety of variables including: the ambient temperature, the type of food and the microbes present in the food.
Once the temperature of potentially hazardous food itself (like meat, milk, poultry, seafood, cooked beans, processed produce, etc) has gotten above 40°F for more than 2 hours, the food should be discarded. The food might not actually appear spoiled and there is the possibility that the food could be perfectly safe for longer than that, but foodborne pathogens and toxins don't make their presence known until many hours after the food has been consumed. The 2 hour guideline is conservative, but it would be better to discard the food than to suffer the consequences.

Methodology
Observation
We opened two different brands of corned beef at the same time, washed it using a strainer and placed it on a separate plastic container.

Results and Discussion
STATE HERE THE APPEARANCE/SMELL AND TOHER PHYSICAL QUALITIES OF THE TWO BRANDS BEFORE WASHING, AND AFTER WASHING (you can add the phrase, “ as shown in the figure 1... blah blah blah).On the second day of experimentation, the Argentina corned beef has already spoiled (HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT IT IS SPOILED? WHAT ARE THE CHANGES YOU HAVE OBSERVED?). While the Star corned beef has only started to spoil (as shown in the figure blah blah blah).
This data shows us the result of how the corned beef looked like after 2 days. We could see that Argentina corned beef has more of a liquid texture compared to Star Carne Norte or Star corned beef. With this picture, we could say that Star Carne Norte has longer shelf life compared to Argentina Corned Beef.

Conclusion and Recommendations I conclude that Argentina corned beef spoils faster than Star corned beef because it was stated in the nutrition label that Argentina corned beef has lesser preservatives. Thus, the lesser the preservatives, the shorter time it will last and eventually spoil, which means that Star corned beef would last longer. I recommend that further research of studies will be conducted to validate our findings because of lack of variables needed to research about it further.

Factors studied were their opinions about science classes, their out-of-school experiences in physics, and their attitudes toward science and technology. Students’ overall interest in physics was “neutral” (neither positive nor negative), with boys showing a higher interest than girls. We found a strong correlation between students’ “neutral” interest in physics and their negative opinions about science classes. These findings raise serious questions about the implementation of changes made in the Israeli science curriculum in primary and junior high school, especially if the goal is to prepare the young generation for life in a scientific-technological era.
