Pro & con..........good & bad.......reasons for drafting him or not drafting Glenn Dorsey. In addition to all of the other guys we're considering at No. 2. As a long time Ram fan I know what it's like for us to be drafting early. This ain't my first rodeo, & I've been here b4. However an early draft pick, not to mention the No. 2 overall pick in the draft presents it's own set of problems. I'm sure many of us still remember the Lawrence Phillips DISASTER back in 96. We picked him as the 6th overall pick that yr. and he NEVER lived up to billing. All of the crying Vermeil did over that kid, was just a waste of time & that poor draft pick cost us for yrs. Luckily for us we turned it ALL around in 1999, w/ some key signings & the drafting of Torry in the first round. But that wasn't the end (unfortunately) of our Rams making HORRIBLE selections in the first round. Heck even our GOOD selections are a mixed blessing IMHO. Torry Holt has been the BEST draft pick EVER in my recent memory. But what about big Orlando Pace? It is a well-recognized fact that many racial and ethnic minorities face unique health challenges and suffer from poorer health outcomes (Dorsey, 2011). The importance of adequately reporting and collecting relevant SES parameters, including race and ethnicity is evident. However, the question of how to properly categorize, measure, and report some of these parameters has been in the center of discussion for some time. In accordance with the Affordable Care Act, The department of Health and Human Services (HHS) came up with the new data standards for the collection of race, ethnicity, sex, primary language, and disability status. It is required by law that these standards be used in all the national population health surveys (Dorsey, 2011). The new standards have been in use since November 2011, and their stated purpose is to “understand the causes of health disparities, design effective responses, and evaluate progress in decreasing health disparities” (Dorsey, 2011). Kingdom alliances through marriages are ones that first come to mind. Often fictional portrayals of real pressures for pressures to gain resources or military alliance for a capital or imperial need involve young princes and princesses who are forced to marry. However, in a nonfictional example for this paper, Chinese indentured laborers or former indentured laborers and African slaves or former slaves married in 19th century Cuba both romantically and strategically. I argue that there needs to be further research around Afro-Chinese marriages in Cuba and a recentering on women. I had originally planned to center this paper around African slave women who married Chinese men in Cuba in the 19th century but was not able to because of the lack of literature available. However, I aim to focus on a reading against the grain for indications of women’s agency and voice in this set of literature. My personal stakes in this topic are two-fold. First, my mother’s side of my family lived in Cuba for a few decades from the late 1920s to 1960 as a part of an entrepreneurial endeavor and as refuge from persecution from the Communist Party of China.
