Home Maintenance Paper Our team has been assigned to come up with a software proposal that will help not only home owners but also those who rent homes. It is common knowledge that without regular home maintenance, whether it is a small or a simple fix could if gone unchecked mushroom into mega expensive repairs that might cause the homeowner to lose their investment. A routine maintenance check off list will ensure that the beauty and durability of a home and also will protect the homeowner’s investment for years to come. The routine maintenance check list that we have chosen to talk about is fixtures, appliances and pluming, which will be broken down into four different categories spring, fall, annual, as needed and as we know sometime we need a professional’s touch the last category is called pro needed.
Problem Statement and Solution Our team of software developers won a contract in which we will develop a program to help its users identify recurring tasks to keep their home systems in good working conditions. The program will allow the user to keep a healthy home maintenance and stable home. The program will have different times of the year that it will be performed in order to maintain a good working conditions of the house. The tasks will be performed in the spring, fall, annual, as needed, and pro-needed. There will be a total of three different modules for this program to include five different sub-tasks in each module. The three different modules will consist of plumbing, fixtures, and appliances. The program will also include an interface where it will allow its users the ability to see if a maintenance item has been performed. If the task has been completed the status will show as performed and if the task has not been performed it will show a status of not yet performed. With this program the user will have the ability to see how many items have not yet been completed. The module that will be included in the application will be the plumbing, fixtures, and appliances. These modules will have a specific purpose in the program. The purpose for these modules within the program is to maintain the working condition of all plumbing, fixtures, and appliances within the user’s home. The user interface will consist of four different screens, because three of them will be the modules and the fourth screen will be the output screen. This will allow the user to keep almost like a log of all the different tasks needed to be accomplished and also for those tasks already accomplished. The user will input information from each task in the input screen at the time it was performed. These tasks will have a scheduled when they will be needed to be performed, this will be in the spring, fall, annually, as needed, and pro-needed. The statuses will be shown as task performed and not yet performed. The following is a list of all tasks along with the three modules that our software developers will be utilizing to make this program functional.

Function and Structure ie. Inputs, Processing Logic, and Outputs The following information is the functions and the structure of every variable that will be utilized in this program. The information will illustrate the name of the variable, its data type and the description of its purpose. End Module Conclusion To conclude without software proposal we want to press on your minds that our software will help homeowners and home renters to keep track of the type of maintenance that has to be done in the spring, fall, annual and pro needed. As homeowners and home renters keeping up with the working condition of the appliances, fixtures, and plumbing will help the home owner or renter with unneeded expenses for not taking the preventative maintenance of their home.
