Hond Hond

We horen vaak verhalen...

Dogs

...also shows the familiar petname diminutive -ga also seen in frogga "frog", picga "pig", stagga "stag", wicga "beetle, worm", among others.[11] The term dog may ultimately derive from the earliest layer of Proto-Indo-European vocabulary, reflecting the role of the dog as the earliestdomesticated animal.[12] In 14th-century England, hound (from Old English: hund) was the general word for all domestic canines, and dog referred to a subtype of hound, a group including the mastiff. It is believed this "dog" type was so common, it eventually became the prototype of the category "hound".[13] By the 16th century, dog had become the general word, and hound had begun to refer only to types used for hunting.[14] Hound, cognate to German Hund, Dutch hond, common Scandinavian hund, and Icelandic hundur, is ultimately derived from the Proto-Indo-European *kwon- "dog", found in Sanskrit kukuur (कुक्कुर),[15] Welsh ci(plural cwn), Latin canis, Greek kýōn, and Lithuanian šuõ.[16] In breeding circles, a male canine is referred to as a dog, while a female is called a bitch[17] (Middle English bicche, from Old English bicce, ultimately from Old Norse bikkja). A group of offspring is a litter. The father of a litter is called the sire, and the mother is called the dam. Offspring are, in general, called pups orpuppies, from French poupée, until they are about a year old. The process of birth is whelping, from the Old English word hwelp (cf. German Welpe, Dutchwelp, Swedish valpa, Icelandic hvelpur)...

My Paper

...Logan Bricketto Rodemann Econ Tuesday and Thursday 2nd 12 Febuary 2012 The Catch Up   During the month of September italys government sold a slug of five year old paper at one of its usual bond auctions. there was hardly enough demand for the bonds to meet supply even we a steep interest rate. contrast that with the sale in august of 20 billion yuans, which is 20 billion in us dollars, of paper by China in hong Kong;s fledgling offshore market. the yield was miserly yet there were bonds for sale.            This tale of two bonds auctions is a parable for the contrasting fortunes of near stagnant rich economies and fast growing emerging markets. twenty of the 82 econmics covered in the back pages of the Economist grew by 3% or more in the year to the latest quarter. only two, of these, Austria and Sweden, are from the traditional group of rich ones, such as Taiwan and Hong Kong. The IMF's the latest forecast is that emerging economies will grow by more than 6% in 2011 and 2012. But growth in the rich world is likely to be below 2%.            The other half lives is the rotters economic news over that summer and depending euro-zones mess mean it is easy to forget that countries that now account for half the worlds output and most of its population are doing rather well. that is the focus of my special report on the world economy. Honda's Sustained Competitive Advantage

...Research one of the Japanese Auto companies either Toyota or Honda and explain how the company has built and sustained competitive advantage in terms of the following: o Time o Investment o Interconnectedness of capabilities o Causal ambiguity Cite one Indian company that has built and sustained competitive advantage Honda: Honda Motor Company, Limited is a Japanese public multinational corporation primarily known as a manufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles. Honda has been the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer since 1959 and eighth largest automobile manufacturer in the world behind General Motors, Volkswagen Group, Toyota, Hyundai Motor Group, Ford, Nissan, and PSA in 2011. From a company who was a supplier of piston rings to Toyota and becoming their competitor there is a lot of story behind. A firm possesses a Sustainable Competitive Advantage (SCA) when it has value-creating processes and positions that cannot be duplicated or imitated by other firms that lead to the production of above normal rents. An SCA is different from a competitive advantage (CA) in that it provides a long-term advantage that is not easily replicated. As an example, Honda's expertise in engines. Honda was able to exploit this core competency to develop a variety of quality products from lawn mowers and snow blowers to trucks and automobiles. Time: Building resources usually takes time and continuous reinforcement, thereby giving first mover an advantage that is difficult...

Generosity In The Canterbury Tales

...to enjoy these things so openly; as Mann states had it been a Lord of a Manor discussing his love of hunting and wearing fine clothes then the audience would most likely not have paid much attention. So it is disputably the estate that determines whether the characteristics are seen as ‘good’ or ‘bad’ rather than the individual themselves. Traits of ”temperament, appearance and manners” seen in these pilgrims are argued by Hulbert to be socially representative of humankind. Thereby the physical appearance of the monk according to Hulbert is reflective of that particular profession at the time whereas Mann argues that these are more representative of estates rather than the individual. So the line “I seigh his sleves purfiled at the hond” isn’t merely a reflection of the monk as an individual and his love of the finer things but a reflection on the estate as a whole for although they should be pious they too enjoyed luxuries such as fur trimmed sleeves. Upon first experiencing this line a modern audience would arguably see this as almost frivolous and sinful for the stereotypical Monk in modern times would be pious and simple but this Monk has fur adorning his sleeves; this idea of a “ful fat” pilgrim who prefers to hunt and wear grand clothing could be seen as an allegorical figure for the greed of mankind within a satirical piece for even holy men valued their desires above the idea of labour and study yet when each aspect of the character is taken individually it can...

Csr at Mcdonald's

...The most essential characteristic of an organisation is the focus on ethical behavior. By ‘doing the right thing’ internally and externally the business can create a good working environment, whereas at the same time the surroundings and the society takes advantage. Difficult is that ethical matters are based on individual principles and ideals. Resultantly, ethical matters are not easy to put into effect and easy to overlook. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is rapidly becoming one of the principles on which modern business is built (Hancock, 2004). Areas can be identified were improvements should be made, and use it for strategies in future business plans. CSR refers to the economic, legal, ethical and discretionary responsibilities (Carroll & Buchholtz, 2000; Swanson, 1995). The organisations are furthermore faced up to social demands for which they are likely to show responsibility for. Following the organisation can respond in different ways. The different types of responding to the social demand are obstructive, defensive, accommodative or proactive (Carroll & Gatewood, 1981). Within this essay it will be examined how these CSR principles were / are utilized in the service business McDonald’s. For evaluating the social performance of McDonald’s there will be a closer look at the ethical & discretionary responsibilities and the responses proactive & accommodative. Finally it will be examined how to improve the social responsibility of McDonald’s by using the tools code...

Chaucer Essay

...“I have no title to aspire/ Yet when you sink I seem the higher” In light of this statement, analyse the role that power plays in a text you have studied. In Geoffrey Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales, the role of power is widely explored through Alyson, The Wife of Bath. The Wife’s ability to manipulate and gain dominion over her husbands can be a result of her sexual and libidinous nature, as she uses this attraction to gain pecuniary and societal power. Furthermore, marriage is portrayed as a crucial tool in the gaining of power, as it plays an extremely important role in Alyson’s “wynning” of status and money, as without her husbands one would be without these fortunes. However, the Wife’s dominance and power is questioned by the raw youth of her later husbands, as one experiences the endearing aspect of her fifth husband, Jankyn, as he represents the power left in the patriarchal hegemony of the era, withdrawing all the previously gained power the Wife had obtained. Firstly, the gain and control of power in the Wife of Bath can be seen through the role of sex within the tale, as sex not only secures money and land for the Alyson, but also rewards her with great dominance within the patriarchal hegemony: “I wo lde no lenger in the bed abyde,
If that I felte his arm over my syde,
Til he had maad his raunson unto me;
Thanne wolde I suffre hym do his nycetee.
And therefore every man this tale I telle,
Wynne whoso may, for al is for to selle.” Here, the Wife explains that...

Kruistocht
