Isaac Newton's contribution to Science

Isaac Newton was an English physicist and a mathematician. Isaac Newton was arguably one of the smartest, most influential scientists of all time and had created an all new era in scientific revolution. Newton mainly studied the laws of gravity and motion however he had also worked with light and optics. Newton had felt that physical laws would outweigh chemical and biological laws therefore developing an interest with gravity and motion. A few of his greatest contributions towards science consisted of the discovery of the spectrum, the laws of universal gravitation and the physical laws of motion. Isaac Newton's contributions to science had created opportunities for scientists …show more content…
Newton had a theory of creating a colour based prism to decompose white light into the many colours of the visible spectrum. With the creation of the prism, Newton was able to discover the composition of white light. Newton had also invented the Newtonian telescope which Newton himself had used to observe space. With the creation of his Newtonian telescope which was used to reflect objects located in the sky and the discovery of the visible spectrum, Newton was able to combine the two to observe the composition of the sun. He later discovered that the elements located in the sun were composed of the same elements that could be found on Earth. Newton's discovery of the spectral prism and the Newtonian telescope had been a major step to the topic optics.

Another contribution Newton had made to science was his introduction to the laws of physical motion and universal gravitation. Isaac Newton compared the laws of gravitation on Earth with the effects of planets creating their orbit around the center of the universe. With the help another scientist, Johannes Kepler, Newton was able to use the laws of planetary motion to create his own laws of motion that would happen on Earth.
