8. Reflection /Limitation IES is a really meaningful project. I really learnt a lot through this study. It help a lot with my personal growth.
It help me to develop my wisdom. It make me become more and more mature. Its very nice. This project also help me develop my research ability etc. I think these skill will help me a lot in the future work.
I’m using Literature Review as a data collection method. The major limitation of my data collection method is that I can only find extent literature. The information I collect may not be comprehensive enough because the literature aren’t comprehensive enough. Since the literature can’t reflect the views of all people.
During the data collection stage, I have learn many things. For sample its improve my own research ability, my critical thinking, my life experience. When I search the literatures on the internet and library, I find out many different literature. But not all of them are related to the my topic. So I need to choose the right one. Its quite difficult. Through the research, I can increase my research ability.

History of Music Videos

...usually short and normally accompanied by musical selections which were usually just a band on a movie set. Musical films were an important initial step to music videos. Many popular music videos have copied the style of Hollywood musicals from 1930’s to the 1950’s. In the late 1950's, the Scopitone, a visual jukebox was invented in France and was used by French artistes to produce films to accompany their songs. In 1964, The Beatles starred in their first feature film. They then went on to do another feature film filmed in color in London. The title track of this film was in black-and-white and is one of the prime models of the modern performance-style music video. In 1965, The Beatles started making promotional clips for distribution and broadcasts in other countries so they could promote their record releases without having to make physical appearances. The Byrds also started using this same strategy. So when the Beatles stopped touring in late 1966, promotional clips had already become very popular. MTV (Music Television) was launched on August 1, 1981. The original purpose of the channel was to play music videos guided by Video Jockeys. Today, MTV...

Sociology and Technology

...that in the 21st century technology is another term used to represent our modern life style, thinking and behaviour. Technology is also used by people to improve their surroundings, and it involves having to have some sort of knowledge in order to use certain machines and tools to do so. Furthermore technology is used to control the world in which we live, and more specifically people use it to improve their ability to do work and improve products. This whole idea as to how we view technology is seen as the technological determinism approach. It has also been said that technology cannot work on its own, but rather it is found to work hand in hand with the environment in which we live (Lian, 2007). Therefore in my essay I will be looking at various types of technology from a technological determinist and cultural materialist perspective, and then looking at how these two approaches compare or differ from one another. This would also lead me to seeing if the cultural materialist approach does see society as being free agents and actually adapting technology to fit the culture. 1. The main ideas of technological determinism and the theoretical implications of it Technological determinism has to do with the belief that technology shapes social change. A social scientist named Veblen first came up with this concept in the 1920s, and he believed that changes in beliefs; practices and goals of a society and culture were all influenced by technology (Murphie & Potts, 2003). Technological...

What do you do when you seek for useful advice or inspiration in something you are passionate about and want to succeed in? One of the most obvious answers (if you are not a member of a suicide club) is probably this - you listen to people who have already "made it" in your craft. And in such a sleazy and poorly documented industry as music business, you better use this advice in full. This was what I thought while thinking on a concept for the first Dotted Music ebook few months back. On the blog, we've got lots of fantastic quotes from successful musicians, and pretty diverse I must say - from Anthrax guitarist to frontman of OK Go, there are very different sayings. So, the idea was born: to collect ten exceptional quotes and build a story around them. Why the story? Well, there is one problem about musicians, specifically when they speak... With the vague nature of most artistic people, their expressions are often pretty generic. To correct this misunderstanding, we took risks to expose the ten chosen quotes of musicians, who indeed have "made it" in the music industry, and create a free ebook worth...

The site enabled its users to upload a profile and make friends with the other users. By 2006, Facebook and Twitter both became available to users throughout the world. These sites still remain as the most popular social network on the Internet. After the success of these social media sites, other sites like Tumbler, Spotify, Foursquare and Pinterest began appearing to fill specific social network niches. Furthermore, Hendricks (2013) emphasized that, "there are a tremendous variety of social networking sites, and many of them can be linked to allow cross posting. This creates an environment where users can reach the maximum number of people without sacrificing the intimacy of person-to-person communication. We can only speculate about what the future of social networking may look in the next decade or even 100 years from now, but it seems clear that it will exist in some form for as long as humans are alive." Given the history of social media, there are still many social media sites appearing on the Internet. The most famous social media site now is Facebook. In 1941, that film was Orson Welles’s Citizen Kane. Welles produced, directed, wrote, and starred in the movie at age twenty-five, playing a newspaper magnate from a young man to old age. While the movie was not a commercial success initially (powerful newspaper publisher William Randolph Hearst, whose life was the inspiration for the movie, tried to suppress it), it was critically praised for its acting, story, and directing. Citizen Kane’s dramatic camera angles, striking film noir–style lighting, nonlinear storytelling, montages, and long deep-focus shots were considered technically innovative for the era. Over time, Citizen Kane became revered as a masterpiece, and in 1997 the American Film Institute named it the Greatest American Movie of All Time. “Citizen Kane is more than a great movie; it is a gathering of all the lessons of the emerging era of sound,” film critic Roger Ebert wrote.1 CHAPTER 6 ○ MOVIES 185 (c) Bedford/St. Martin's bedfordstmartins.com 1-457-62096-0 / 978-1-457-62096-6 MOVIES A generation later...
