How Koreans Obtain a Driver’s License In a country where cars always have the right of way over pedestrians, where drivers consistently exceed the speed limit, where traffic signals are simply stop signs that people slow down and roll through; it’s hard not question how people in this country obtain a driver’s license. There are nine parts to this process. Lucky for you, I’ve done all the research; you just have to do the reading. The first step in acquiring a Korean license is enrolling in an hour-long traffic safety education class. It is the prerequisite to the written exam and can be taken at any regional examination office. An instructor that incorporates instructional videos as part of his lecture teaches this course. The only thing an applicant would need to this class is a valid ID as this class is free of charge. Step two in the process is a health check. The health check is a physical examination of the body to see if the applicant is fit to drive. It can be taken in health-check rooms at any regional examination office. The check up is normally 5,000 KRW; however, the price varies for each office. With the health check out of the way, the applicant can proceed to step three: applying for the written exam. To apply for the exam, he/she would need to prepare three 3cm x 4cm portraits of themselves, bring a valid ID, and fill out the application form. The processing fee is 6,000 KRW. The fourth step is a very crucial step; one must pass the written exam. The exam is comprised of 40 multiple choice, fill-in the black, and subjective answer questions. It goes over the driver’s knowledge to the operation of a vehicle and traffic laws. To pass, the applicant must score 70 points or higher for a Level 1 Regular license or 60 points or higher for a Level 2 Regular license. If the applicant fails the written exam, he/she must reapply for the exam

Project Abstract

...MGIS 301- Management Information Systems 2D Matrix Barcodes in Pharmaceutical Industry Group Project Abstract Team members: Begüm Ekinil, Ezgi Tuğçe Demir, Gözde Şener, Lukas Hrban, Nurgül Karataş, Tolga Akgündüz, Zeynep Hazal Özuslu In general; barcodes are used for data transfer in various industries. As the years go by barcode technology developed and it is still improving itself. One of the major and the most beneficial improvements in barcode technology is 2D matrix barcodes. These items contain much more informational characters than the line barcodes do. There are several applications of this improved system. Tax returns, packing list, driver’s licenses and patient record are the major areas in which 2D matrix barcodes are implemented. Since data matrix codes contain details of component such as manufacturer ID, part number, unique serial number and expiration date, in pharmaceutical industry using such barcodes would increase productivity by reducing time spent in pharmacy and prohibiting fake drugs. 2D matrix barcodes are one of the informational technology masterpieces that make the life easy. The wideness of subject and its improvement trend are the two main reasons behind our choice. Also we specified the project for pharmaceutical industry because 2D labeling technology has remarkable benefits for pharmaceutical purposes. First of all 2D labeling provides additional information coded in the label to allow for supply chain control. Second, pharmacy...

The Quality of Date

...The Quality of Data Introduction Value Errors Missing Data and Bad Structures Entity Resolution Anonymous Resolution Conclusion 34 35 39 50 62 66 1 DATA MINING FOR INTELLIGENCE Introduction Computer processors are faster than ever, storage is fairly cheap, network bandwidth is continually expanding, and information technologies are capable of integrating massive amounts of data. With all of these high-end systems and capabilities, there is still a limitation on performing effective analytics and much of this has to do with the quality of the data collected throughout the years. The real challenge lies in improving the accuracy of the data through better collection and representation methods. Only when this problem is appropriately addressed can one realistically expect to see improvement in the detection and analytics of fraud, terrorism, money laundering, and other critical areas. One high-profile situation emphasizes this point. It was reported1 that Senator Edward Kennedy (Massachusetts) was stopped while boarding airline fl ights on five different occasions because his name matched an entry on a government no-fly list. Additionally, Congressman John Lewis (Georgia) claims he was required to submit to additional security checks because his name also matched one on a watch list. In both cases, the data processed by these systems represented only a limited portion of what was necessary to properly perform an appropriate match. Ultimately the situations were...

Strengthening the Ombudsman Institution in Asia Accountability is essential for good governance, and in many Asian countries the ombudsman is the key accountability institution. Originating in the West, the concept of the ombudsman arrived relatively late in Asia. Yet more and more ombudsman offices are being established in Asia, and they play a critical role in the fight against incompetence and injustice on the part of government officials.
