BROWNIE CAKE ALA MODE RECIPE
Ingredients:
-Brownie: * 1 cup butter * 2 cups sugar * 2 tablespoons vanilla extract * 4 eggs * ¾ cup Hershey’s cocoa * 1 cup all-purpose flour * ½ tablespoon baking powder * ¼ teaspoon salt * Vanilla ice cream (1 scoop)
-Vanilla Buttercream Frosting: * 3 cups confectioner’s sugar * 1 cup butter * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract * 1-2 tablespoon whipping cream
Directions/Procedures:
1. Heat oven to 350◦F. Grease the baking pan (circular-shaped pan). 2. Place butter in large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at medium (50%) 2-2 ½ minutes or until melted. Stir in sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well with spoon after each addition. Add the cocoa mixture, beat until well blended. Add flour, baking powder and salt, beat well. Pour batter into prepared pan. 3. Bake the mixture to 30-35 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from the sides of pan
In preparing the Vanilla Buttercream Frosting: 1. In a standing mixer fitted with a whisk, mix together sugar and butter. Mix on low speed until well blended and then increase speed to medium and beat for another 3 minutes. 2. Add vanilla and cream and continue to beat on medium speed for 1 minute more, adding more cream if needed for spreading consistency. 3. After finishing all the elements, divide the baked brownies into two horizontal layers. Spread evenly the frosting between the divided layers. To finish it all off, place the 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of the finish product.
