The Great HTC Thunderbolt

A little over a year ago HTC released a new smartphone called the Thunderbolt. It is one of the first 4G phones that were released. It is an older phone but it was a hot product when it initially released. My wife really wanted this phone for her birthday. I was skeptical of making this purchase because I have had my share of problems with the Android operating systems in the past. I decided to give it another chance, considering the improvements that they have made to the operating system. After purchasing this phone for my wife, I played with it for a few days to see if it measured up to all the hype. I was quite surprised to find out that the phone actually performed a lot better than my previous Android operating smartphone. If you are seeking a phone that has several cutting- edge technological features, an extremely fast processor and a large display screen, then the Thunderbolt should definitely be considered for purchase. The first thing I realized about the phone after powering it was the special customizations that can be made to the screens. It has five different home screens that allow you to assign anything to it to give you easy access to your applications. The screens have places for you to assign your favorite people to call or text and even for your most used social networks. Another catchy thing that the screen gives you access to is the Google search bar without having to get on the mobile web to do so. There is even a screen that allows you to enable the GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi and even adjust the screen’s brightness with the touch of a button. Starting in June or July of this year, I began to experience a lost of signal on my mobile device, the My Touch Slide 3G. I was on a phone call and the call dropped. When that call dropped, I never received another signal and the phone would display “emergency calls only” followed by “searching” signal. I tried various troubleshooting options and even waited a few days to see if the coverage would recover before I ended up calling T-Mobile customer care. When I called customer care, the representative proceeded to have me perform all the routine troubleshooting options before they decided to send me another My Touch Slide 3G because they could not figure out why the device would not recover a signal. Needless to say, I received the replacement My Touch Slide 3G and the phone worked for a few weeks and then I began to experience the same exact issue. Overall, I was sent a total of 3 different My Touch Slide 3G’s and they all would eventually lose signal permanently. After the 3rd replacement lost signal, I called customer care and they then decided that it is not the phone but that it is the SIM card I was using. I had the same SIM card since joining T-Mobile in 2006. After receiving the new “4G” SIM card, the phone started working. Then a few weeks later, it lost signal again.
