1. a. HKA Business Activities: HKA offers multiple activities, these include: Kayak Lessons, Tours of the Hudson River, and the ability to rent Kayaks b. Organization: Linda runs the office and handles the website, Steve gives lessons and provides tours, and Janet, on her free time, handles the telephone and reservations. c. Resources: The company has 16 kayaks for rental, 8 car-top carriers, a vast amount of accessories and safety equipment, Steve who’s a sales representative, and Linda, a freelance web designer. d. Customers: The Customers have mentioned that their website is “Attractive and Informative” e. Web Based Marketing: Considering Linda is a web designer, they have a lot of potential when it comes to advertising online. Although they advertise in print, the newer generation doesn’t read much printed work so their ability to grow is impaired unless they transition more online, such as having a facebook page. 2. HKA’s main functions include: Rental, instruction, and tours f. Customer checks availability of rental ---- Customers choose their day -----> Customer enters their information----> Confirm and process information. 3. HKA does not use much in regards to information systems, they use loose leaf binders with tabs for each business activity and an access Database to record reservations. Personally I think this method is obsolete and drags their business down. A system should be implemented to where the information entered on their website automatically creates a reservation and organizes it on a calendar. This would help Linda focus on more important matters instead of using her free time to enter this information by hand. This would also prevent the conflicts with Linda and Steve’s availability. 4.
