1. In the first 116 lines of Hesiod’s Theogony, he presents that the Muses, daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne, were incredibly beautiful and had wonderful voice. Zeus adored the nine Muses; Cleo, Euterpe, Thaleia, Melpomene, Terpsichore, Erato, Polyhymnia, Urania, and Calliope, the leader of the Muses. The Muses are goddesses of the arts and live by Mountain Helicon along with Hesiod. They told stories of future and the past, laws of the land, and the good stories of the gods and goddesses. The Muses are free spirits and the patrons of the art and provided inspiration of orators, artist, and the musicians.
