I am a firm believer that a healthy mind promotes a healthy body. I feel this way because without a strong mind, including both your attitude and lifestyle you will never achieve total health. Since the body and mind are connected and emotions play such a large part in determining one’s health status, if you try separating out the mind from the body and how they interact it only makes sense that it would be misleading. For example, if a person lives a healthy life such as, exercise regularly, weight management, eating healthy food and manage a stress free environment they would live a longer life span, then those who live a life style drinking alcohol, smoking, and party. With a healthy mind, we begin to apply health and wellness into our lives, and be able to encouge family, friends or co-workers to do the same. It is very important that we live an healthy life because a healthy mind promotes a healthy way of living.

Proper diet and exercise or making the wise choice not to partake excessive caffeine, drugs and alcohol use as well. With a healthy mind, we begin to apply health and wellness into our lives and make conscious decisions in everything we do or choose to participate in. I also believe it is a body-mind connection and it all starts in our head.

It is very important that I live my life in a health way such as to minmize the unexpected
A healthy mind also promotes a healthy way of living because you are looking at the positives that comes from having a healthy body which in return will cause you to have a healthy mind and body.

Ethics Awareness Inventory

...Ethics Awareness Inventory After taking the Ethics Awareness Inventory the results highlighted what I had already suspected about my way of thinking. Although I have my own way of thinking my main concern is for the good of others. Because I am a doer and not a talker I expect those who around me to be doers also. If the people around me are not team players I will achieve the goal on my own. I am a true believer that “talk is cheap”, I need results. What can I say? I am an achiever and I am concerned with the greater good for everyone. The test states my Ethical Style is the privilege of having choices in life. I am a firm believer that everyone should be aware of their choices in life. “Ethics relies on exemplary character to make the difficult choices. You value such qualities as honesty, wisdom and integrity, and you place greater emphasis on demonstrating these qualities than on the following rules. Your ethical style compels you to strive to be a person of wisdom and integrity” (The William Institute 2012, pg. 1). I am a good team player and I find there are times when I have to be on the only player, but that don’t stop my progress. I will push myself until I achieve measurable results. This information provides me with the right tools to use in making good ethical decisions at work. I have come to realize that all I can do is to continue to perform my duties in an ethical way. Learning the proper way to address Ethical Dilemmas without letting frustration over...

One key reason why is because my mom has raised me to believe that there is a God since I was a baby, I have been to church multitudes of times and also have read the bible many times so naturally I am going to believe that he is real. Yes my mom “raised me in the church” but that’s not the only reason I believe in God though, I believe because after observing and living life on this planet for the past 20 years I have came to my own conclusion God exists. I feel life it self is too far too complex and diverse for there not to be one (The Teleological Argument). Just like how we know a car or a skyscraper was created by people because of the complexity of the creation so is the same logic I use when I defend the existence of God, after taking biology this year it only made my belief in a God stronger by learning how life on earth works, from my point of view It really amazes me how people think that there is no God. The Afterlife: (Maximum 200 words) I am a theist and I believe that there is an after life. I am a firm Believer in God so naturally that would make me a firm believer in the after life as well. Proving that the after...

Garrett Advisor Case Study

...I am interested in potential part time opportunities working with a Garrett advisor. I am open to anything from 15 to 30 hours a week, although I prefer to average at least 20 hours per week. Along with having the CFP® certification, I have experience as a holistic orientated fee-only financial planner along with personal investment experience in both conventional and alternative asset classes. As Garrett members are, I also am a firm believer in adhering to a financial fiduciary standard. What I can offer can potentially serve three different types of advisors: 1. Those that consider their practice to be "full", but are open to further expansion for specific potential client types. 2. Advisors whose practice has expanded rapidly and want...

Talking Style Comparisons Between Genders

...The article “Shared Talking Styles Herald New and Lasting Romance” gives an overview of how different elements such as function words play an instrumental role in determining the compatibility between men and women. In my opinion, this article represents both consistent and inconsistent information. According to Bruce Bower 2010, two people who hat one another will often exhibit a high amount of language-style matching. I believe this to be a true statement due to the fact that both individuals are experiencing the same feeling, so the language will be similar. Friendships are formed from characteristics such as language-style matching. Positive relationship stems from combining the two elements together. I am also a firm believer that communication is a two-way entity, and both parties must be willing to compromise certain aspects for the overall success of their relationship. The language style matching exercise is a great tool in measuring the compatibility but must not be set in stone. I’m also a firm believer that opposites do attract. An old cliché that states “men are from Mars, women are from Venus” gives a clear description of the differences between men and women. Men approach conversations with a distinct set of rules and interpretations of talk. Men focus on status and independence; women focus more on intimacy and connection. Not only do men and women communicate differently but they think, feel, perceive, react, respond, love, need, and appreciate differently...

Personal Ethics Statement

...one’s concept of right and wrong (Judson & Harrison, 2010 p.9). As I reflect on my up-bringing, I remember my parents teaching me the differences between what is right and wrong. As a result of this learning experience, I discovered my conscious, my inner self that tells me I have done something wrong or right. This feeling comes in the form of a nagging voice that tells you things are not as they should be and it does not get better until you make changes. As a child, my grandparents owned a pastry shop and wood yard. My grandmother made cakes, pies, bread, pastries and sold other items in their store. I learned at an early age not to bother things that did not belong to me after eating the profit from the store. I would be place on restriction or some form of corporal punishment, depending on the severity of my infraction of the rules. My family were firm believers in “Spare the Rod, Spoil the child” (Proverbs 13:24, KJB). I was raised by both my parents and paternal grandparents. As a child, I witnessed my grandparents taking care of family members during illness and end of life times. When my grandparents were in their golden years, my parents took care of them. This caring gift did not only extend to the family, they took in a neighbor when his family could not care for him until it became too much for my parents. I knew as a child in elementary school that I wanted to be a nurse. I wanted to care for those who were unable to care from themselves. ...

...I am a rule driven leader. I like to know all rules and regulations pertaining to the job, and use them as a guide in how I work. I have always been a firm believer that if you do things always the by the book, you are less likely to run into problems. I use the democratic leadership style. I value other’s input and opinions, and use them in my decision making process. Even if I can’t make everyone happy all the time, I like to include everyone in the process, and make everyone feel as if they have contributed something to the mission. I think this is important in giving people a sense of ownership. I am a very friendly NCO. I try to use the best interpersonal communication skills and build a strong rapport with everyone I deal with. I like to ‘connect’ with all of my subordinates, peers, and supervisors in a way that makes the most comfortable and open work environment possible. My strengths lie in being a people person. I am very good at making people smile. I am also good at being a very hard, efficient worker. I’ve also been told I am an excellent teacher. ...but the new piety versus the old piety of the scribes and Pharisees. The Sermon encourages the Christian to apply his own life through these principles of piety. Jesus condemns adultery in the heart. When I think of this illustration of plunking the eye is not to be taken literally; neither should the illustration in the Bible of cutting of the right hand. These illustrations in the bible suggest the uprooting of evil thoughts fro ones heart. In Christian ethics; the only legal and sacred relation between man and woman is their union in wedlock. Every other sex relation and practice is against the principles of the Gospel . As stated in Matthew 5: 27-30 the scriptures said, “Thou shalt not commit adultery. Adultery is a weakness of the people of the past and still remains as such among the people of the Christian era. In the past, customs and laws legalized adultery and fornication through polygamy. Solomon with many “wives” was not committing adultery. Jesus stated that adultery is sinful not only through the actual sexual act, but even through the thought of lust. Then there is fasting in Matthew illustration of Jesus’ teaching. Fasting is itself is not a virtue but it help the Christians behave. To give alms and to pray. I am a advocate for fasting. I fast and pray a lot as it says in the Bible....

...201 As a young child I have always wanted to work in the medical field and began studying medical books in the fifth grade. I had a passion for oncology at such a young age that I assumed that was the field I would be going into. As a young child we attended church until my parents became angry with God for my mom’s illness. So my desire to enter into the medical field was one that was my plan. A plan that I never prayed for nor did I ask His will in my life but little did I know it was where he wanted me. While in college pursing my nursing degree my grandfather, who was my role model, my best friend and my biggest supporter entered the hospital in what would be his last week of life. He was losing a two year battle with liver cancer and being in the stage of school where I had clinical rotations and I knew what was going on with his body in exact stages he was entering. That alone made the grieving process incredibly hard. There was one night in particular that startled me so much that I reconsidered my entire career as in the medical field. I didn’t leave his side, I was there day in and day out watching him, crying over him and helping take care of him. He was sound asleep and started taking deep breathes that lasted longer and longer in between before he would take another breath and I just knew it was time. He had been a pretty much unable to use his limbs, sit up or raise his head up but he sat straight up and said “I see it, I see the light, do you...

All About Fashion

...Fashion a manner of doing something or a trend of clothing. I considered myself fashionable in both ways. The way I care my self is very important. I am a firm believer in first impressions are lasting impressions. When people see me I want them to know that I respect myself and others enough to look decent. Now I’m not a name brand fanatic, but I do like fashion. I do own brands such as Louis Vuitton and Gucci but that’s not the only thing I would wear. I wear anything that looks good on me. I figured that I have the best of both worlds. Even though I have expensive things, I am not pressed on having them. When it comes to trends I have my own since of style. I try not to follow the trend that others do. Even though I do feel more confident when I have a high-end brand on it does not make me, I make the clothes. Do not mistake my taste for me being high class because like I said have no problem wearing generic brand clothing. I am an athlete so you will see me in sweats when I’m on campus. “ I want to stop using the term 'fashion' because Eve made Adam bite an apple, and since then, it's been illegal to be naked. I'm helping people follow the law in style. I'm helping people with their opinion of how to follow the law. This isn't about fashion. I'm creating new standards: things so you don't have to think about it. 'Fashion' is too high a skill set. It just needs to be easy, easy as a hoodie and jeans that I'm wearing.” –Kanye...

...from the fact that I have a soft corner for the best things in life. As a child my parents imbibed into me that to be successful, you should have a dream, a larger than life vision. If your dream is to reach the stars, you will definitely reach the moon. Media Reaction

...Media Reaction SOC/315 Abstract I am a firm believer that education should be available to anyone who wants to continue their education after High School. But there is one issue that I do have a problem with and that is the state of California offering Financial Aid to “Illegal” undocumented students who have come into the country to better themselves. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think that they should be banned from doing so; I just think there needs to be a line that has to be drawn. During this article I am going to write I will point out some of the drawbacks I see from the “California Dream Act” the way it has affected my family directly and how it has prevented them from continuing their education and get to where they want to be in life. I believe every one is entitled to their opinions on anything that is brought up regardless of what the topic is. Financial Aid for Undocumented Students The “California Dream Act” states “An undocumented high-school graduate or GED recipient would be eligible to adjust to conditional lawful permanent resident (LPR) status if they have been physically present in the United States for at least five years and were younger than 16 when they first entered the country. Jesus and Muhammad

...impossible to worship both or even believe that the two are equal to one another. I will first begin to discuss who and the works of Jesus. Many peoples perspective differ on who Jesus was or is. These beliefs are based on the religion that one follows. I will start with main stream Christian believers; Christians believe that Jesus is the son of God. It is believed in this religion that, God sent angels down to Mary, a virgin and told her she would have a son and his name will be Jesus. The angels also told Mary that, God sent Jesus to preach and deliver his words, so that people may have faith in him all over the world. Jesus did just that, and more. Jesus healed the sick, taught God’s word and died for the sins of the people, so that they may be saved, have eternal life, and enter the gates of heaven, according to the Holy Bible. However, Jesus teachings were primarily about The Kingdom of God (heaven). Never the less, he speaks of morality and prayer. Jesus had many believers has he had non- believers. As Jesus exhibits the works of God, many of the non-believers were displeased on these actions of prayer, healing and talks of eternal life. After The Last Supper, Jesus was arrested in the night to avoid rioting, for he was most popular amongst the people. The next day Jesus was stripped, mocked, and crowned with thorns, he was crucified and executed for aspiring to be the King of Jews. I believe that Jesus is the most influential person who has ever lived. Jesus...

...Bridges. I am twenty-three years old, with three kids. I am from Joliet IL, which is 30 minutes away from Chicago IL. I moved to cape Girardeau MO in 2002, at the time I was thirteen years old. As a child I dreamed of being a ballerina, but my career choice changed to business along the way. Now I am a dedicated mother and individual who is striving to become so much more. I want to show my children that there is so much more to this life. Making the choices I have made about my education, will motivate me to do exactly that. I remember as a child, I was outgoing and very personable. I found that my 5 year old, Auria is a lot like me. She has a spunky attitude, a sassy mouth, and she is very intelligent. I did not think that traits like those were passed along. I recall that I used to be a tom-boy. I never really liked hanging around girls or having them as friends. I was happy when I had my son Is’ryel because he portrays that side of me, mentality and all. With my mom being as strict as she was, I was a bit on the wild side. Sometimes I would break curfew and sneak out. Of course there were always consequences to these actions. They say when you do things as a child you get that back ten times worse with your children. I always had a down home country-city family with plenty of rules and regulations. We could never spend the night away from home. We had a curfew of 11 p.m. at the ages of 16 to 17 and could not wear make up until we were 18. My mom was a firm believer in discipline...
